Nothing to do with this thread but he needs calling out. My daughter is autistic and I cannot stand people who mock them due to sheer ignorance and who find it funny to do so.
OMG, muh "autism" card, give me a break. Literally every second person under 35 is autistic these days. Certainly a lot of KVR members are but we do not make a big deal out of it here. And yes, it's not relevant to this thread in any way.

Sorry, but even though I feel sorry for you, you asked for it.

I doubt the guy acting like his the center of the universe and he not getting a free plugin being the end of the world is actually autistic. Literally every time there's a plugin giveaway the same happens. Seller underestimates the demand, dev sends wrong activation codes etc. It's always resolved eventually. No point making mountain out of the molehill.

If he’s autistic or nor is irrelevant. People who mock autism are idiots. This is very close to me and I WILL call it out. So many issues with mental health at the moment so don’t dare mock it. Sorry to derail the thread but its more important than whingeing about a free vst.

Using "autistic" or any derivative of it in a derogatory or dismissive way is on the level of the nasty, inhumane, immature things kids say in game chats. Grow up and be cool.

If you tell me you have Autism now I certainly wouldn't attack you. Like I said it took courage for him to come out. If people get attacked for doing so then it demotivates them from doing so again.

He explained that his frustration was due in part to his condition. Can't we just leave it at that ?

Autism is the most over diagnosed condition there is these days. I see it a lot with parents, for example. Every little spoiled brat who parents have not bothered to raise properly is suddenly autistic. Everyone who lacks manners or is socially awkward is autist. Everyone who acts like a dick can roll out the "but muh autism" excuse to make others shut up. And I've seen this done a lot too, especially on the internet. So sorry, if I'm running out of sympathy.

Eventually this is doing serious disservice to people who actually have a serious condition.

Other than your opinion, what are you basing this on?

My son is both hemiplegic and has Asperger's. He's 18 now and life is a constant struggle. I've been to many groups, meetings, doctors and specialists over the years and met many children and adults who have Asperger's or are otherwise on the Autistic Spectrum in some way. I can assure you that NO parents in the real world label their kids as autistic because they are spoiled brats. It's incredible difficult to raise a child with any form of special needs and labels suck, especially at school.

Thank goodness having an Autistic Spectrum Disorder isn't a serious condition. For a minute there, I was worried, but again... the internet to the rescue!

Honestly, unless you suddenly come forward and tell me that YOU have an ASD, or are a child psychologist or are a parent of a child with an ASD, then respectfully, you have no idea what you are talking about. There are people on this forum who clearly do and it's probably best you exit stage left before you make a bigger fool out of yourself.

please don't make claims that can be disproved by a single example. there is an awful lot of plain bad parents and incompetent doctors who wouldn't hesitate to label a child that way.

It takes literally 5 seconds on Google to prove that the psychological profession in general is questioning the rationality of how the autism diagnosis has expanded in recent decade. Plenty of research articles about it around. I'm no psychology expert but I have had to study this stuff on and off for over a decade due to my education and work.
