Thanks fmr good to know. So I could install/run dp on multiple machines (to always be used only by me) with just a serial number and no installed instance counting and no calling home? No "you just permanently lost an install" if the laptop hard drive crashes?fmr wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2019 1:57 pmDP doesn't use PACE anymore (since many years already). You just need to insert a serial number, and you're done. Very much like in REAPERJCJR wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2019 8:40 pm Finally decided, I like MOTU as a company and have fond memories of DP but never liked the copy protection scheme. Dam Pace. So decided to try Reaper and see how bad it could be? I like the licensing and price and "on paper" the features I wanted were there.![]()
If so then that is great, kudos to motu. Am purt sure the licensing was still more restrictive when I was looking at PC DP, seems like 2012 or 2013 but maybe later. I investigated it purt closely as my cheapskate self is inclined to do before spending $500.
Tis a free world. Devs can use whatever CP they like. Just that if hell ever freezes over then I'll have to endure the cold snap without benefit of any software which uses draconian copy protection.
