I understand your concern, but RallyUp doesn't have any access to your credit card details whatsoever. Payments are processed directly via Stripe, a trusted PCI Level 1 processor, which is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. That should be safe enough for common trades including charity auctions. :)

My bank allows me to use a discardable (time+amount limited) virtual Visa card (linked to my real Visa) that I use often for anything not accepting PayPal.

Not sure how that feature is called world-wide or if it's available elsewhere in the world. I'm sure it must be a VISA thing. Can't be a unique feature of one bank.

Do you mean Debit Card? I'm using one in all my transaction instead of the credit card. In fact I had a credit card that I cancelled and stayed with the Debit Card! I just don't need a credit card ;) I don't think you have any problem paying with it while you have enough money covers you in your bank current (cash) account.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

No no - it's a virtual card, in here it's a prepaid card, so there is no money there if you don't want there to be.

It depends on where you live, but a credit card can come with some additional protections over a debit card. With a debit card, when the money's gone it's gone because using it is much like writing a cheque.

With a credit card, you (may) have the option to perform a chargeback if the vendor doesn't deliver, so it's a bit more like Paypal in that respect.

Oh ok! It is time to read what's actually the differences between the credit card and debit card here in NZ I guess! I just didn't care that much about it as long it works and I don't have a problem with it.

Owning a Credit Card (VISA in this case), my bank allows me to request (simple online option) a new virtual Credit Card number.
I set its due date (min:1 month/max:1 year), amount limit (like: This card only has $200 in it) and if I want to use it multiple times (multi-use) during its duration or just use-once, which will kill it once charged by the eShop/Site.

So, then the virtual card is generated on-the-fly and I get a (freshly new) valid VISA card number with a valid checkcode, etc to use on a site (like I did for this charity).

My real CC is only charged when that virtual card is charged, for that exact amount (which can be lower than the max limit I set initially, of course).

This allows me to not worry too much if that (discardable) CC data leaks, because it's either invalid already (if use-once or date expired) and it's amount limited anyway, though I always choose the "use-once" option for extra safeness.
I can also quickly kill/invalidate any of the still valid (multi-use) virtual Cards, avoiding any further use if leaked.

btw, quick basic explanation about Debit vs Credit Cards:
Debit Card, the money goes out of your bank the moment you pay.
Credit Card, the money goes out of your bank on a specific date of the month. If 100%, it's like a delayed Debit Card. If less than 100%, then there's extra charges involved, etc

So the credit-card company dealt with the chargeback...and that's why you don't want to use a credit card?

I see.
However, I've never had any problem with them.

So, here are the last contributions to the charity list this year, these cannot be added to RallyUp due to the bug as previously mentioned, but they will go to the 2nd hand auction.
