First beveled edge microphones made? Any German ones ?

Anyone know what some of the first beveled edge microphones ever made were? Just doing a simple online search, I noticed sE Electronics has a few of them like the V7 and then another Australian maker called Soundart. The sE Electronics website says they were created like that to stop them from rolling around. I was a bit intrigued by this and wondered if anyone had any further info on it. Were there perhaps any early vintage German manufacturers of this style ? :?:
