Everytime I start Sampletank 2 LE in my host it makes me re-authorize. I have the same digital Id and all and it actually authorizes it but as soon as I cloe it and open up another one it asks for authorization again. What do I do?

Will be interesting to see how they fix this, I honestly can't believe the software got released with such an obvious problem????

That sounds odd. Are you guys running any software that might prevent writing to the registry, or to other files? Maybe virus/spyware/adware detection software?

I've had the same virus software on my computer for a long time and no problems. Have Sampletank 1 and that is fine.

Nope.

But interestingly, I can't find any registry entry referring to ST2LE or IK.

I've only had this problem with the downloaded version, the copy that came with the SS group buy on CD worked OK.

I think ST2 keeps the authorisation code in a text file somewhere in its directory. Maybe that file is being automatically reset by some "protection" software? Try registering ST2, then make sure the file has the proper registration info, and then make the file read-only (so it can't be reset).

I don't understand that. Also I should not have to do all of that, it should work like all my other programs do. I am going to wait and see what IK sais.

Assuming you're on PC and not Mac:

If I was to take a guess, are the people with the problem running as a Limited User account? This might prevent the copy protection from working as it might be writing to admininstrator only areas.

Here's how to check.
Start..Settings..Control Panel..User Accounts. In the list of accounts, find yours and see if it says "Computer Administrator" or "Limited Account" (or even "Guest Account"). If it's not computer administrator, that might be the problem.

Just a theory, anyway.

Note, if you do run as a limited user account and aren't having problems - don't change to computer adminstrator. There are significant benefits to running as a limited user, the main one is it actually stops many viruses and spyware from getting in your PC even if you don't have the latest OS patches!

can't be sure, but no matter because it should work regardless, all my other plugs do.

Anyone have a chance to try the latest ST2 update, 2.0.8 to see if that fixes the authorization issue?
