So here is my submission for this month.

https://soundcloud.com/impedancemusic/i ... lent-dream

It´s a musical masterpiece with the incredible amount of FOUR chords, that's five more than i can count XD. I used 32 instances of OB-Xd and created every sound by scratch, so no use of preset. I´m trying to get a more decent mix and master so feedback is very appreciated :D

I almost didn't make it, but then managed to put at least this together. It's totally different from what I original thought about, considering my early experiments. Instead I just had fun making some music...

OSC#128: OB-Xd
Neither here nor there, this is a bit of an exploration and strange indulgence, really. I really like the OB-Xd and could've done something completely different, but hey...

Instances: 20
DAW: MuLab (www.mutools.com)
FX: 2 Band EQ, 4 Band EQ, Vintage Echo 2, delay cross, Mid-Side Processor, level compressor

Hello. Here is my submission...

FLAC: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Nm03k ... cwTG0nv_wq

DAW: FL Studio 20.5.1
Author/composer/producer: VCA-089
Title: Highway Rush
Genre: Retrowave
BPM: 105
Key: Eb Minor Melodic

I heard about OB-Xd many times and listened for some demos in the past. I also had an experience of using this instrument in one of my productions. It sounds good and there is a great potential for analog style sounds, and with the individual voice panning and unison things can get even more drastic. Any kind of lush pads, strings and choirs are just a few clicks away. I used some instance layering techniques to achieve some special sounds but for an authentic analog sounds one instance is more than enogh.

I want to point out that synth's architecture is pretty limited in some ways. The lack of more developed modulation section can be a problem when creating some unusual and experimental sounds. I may be a part of hardware authenticity, but it could be more useful to have at least LFO tempo sync on the front panel, as we can stack more than 16 voices in unison which was't possible on hardware.

After all, it was fun to create with this synth and I think I would use it in my further productions.

Good luck!

Hi, are you sure these are freeware? Ferox could be if it’s the old version, but Saturn, is it the Fabfilter product? Better replace it with a free saturator like Klanghelm IVGI, it’s free

Hi All! I'm first time here and I little lost. Where and how can I participate in the One Synth Challenge?
I'm downloaded my track on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-5930296/iv- ... e-deadline, but I don't know, what to do next.

I know there's a lot of work to be done... But I can't listen to this anymore!

Hey OB-Xd-ers! Just made a last minute change to my track - my sidechain was ducking a little too much, apparent when you play it loud in the "quieter" part of the track!!! So, I have reduced the threshold a bit so the "pumping" has pretty much gone, and now just tames the instruments!

For your reference: track is at viewtopic.php?p=7544524#p7544524

… and before we vote, what a fantastic collection of amazing tracks. This synth has really brought out the musicians in you all … much kudos … lots of 5's I think

Hi! Yes, they are both freeware  You can find them on vst4free.com.

Here you can find SATURN (it's not a Fab Filter product, it's developed by Terry West). It is a console emulator.

Ferox can be found here and here. This one is also present in the list of recommended plugins for the One Synth Challenge that you can find here: https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/re ... ed-plugins

Being my first time, I was afraid of doing this kind of errors :hihi: so I spent some time on the osc site and this forum trying to understand the rules well :D

Really like this month's synth, too bad I was once again short on time. Been messing around with MIDI effects in an effort to simplify workflow. I find the arpeggiator effect from Reaper to sometimes misteriosely dropping a few notes.

DAW: Reaper
9x OB-Xd
8x ReaComp
6x Ambience (Reverb)
3x ReaEQ
1x ReaGate
1x ReaXcomp
1x MSaturator (Melda)
2x MIDI Transpose
1x MIDI Arpeggiator
1x Youlean Loudness Meter

DAW: Reaper

OB-XD x 22
ReaEQ x 19
SPAN x 1 (master)
YouLean Loudness Meter (master)
MEqualizer x 2 (1 on master)
Limiter No6 x 2 (one on master)
Transpire x 1
Dragonfly Hall x 6
Dragonfly Room x 1
MIDI Router/Transpose x 6
ReaComp x 4
ReaDelay x 1

In the end, I really like some parts of this, but wish I would've had more time to spend on really fleshing out the arrangement to keep the repetitions of the "chorus" section from getting too repetitive.
