Odds are you and I were bidding on some of the same bundles. I bid on most of the Zynaptiq bundles (on the lowest ones at the time). I was very careful to not bid on the notification link. I would go to my profile (My Account), then validate that I did not have any other winning bids, then go back on the bids page and place a bid on the lowest bid Zynaptiq bundle.

If they use the same platform next year, they need to change the names of any bundles where there are multiple copies to make the names obviously different i.e. "#1 Zynaptiq ZAP II bundle #1", "#2 Zynaptiq ZAP II bundle #2", etc.

As for your second copy, I'd get it off of you if I didn't win one as well.

Luftrum had said he discovered later that he could create one entry with a quantity of 5 (for example) instead of 5 different items, but it was too late as bidding had started, so that should take care of the multiples next year.

I hope we use a different platform next year. Rallyup is one of the worst platforms I have ever used. IMO, they do not deserve the 5% they charge.

I'm sure sometime that's neither October nor the very beginning of November would be a great time to make specific platform suggestions.

Yup, let's hope so.

btw, I have zero complaints about the platform

What an unnecessary comment. I bet you are such a fun person in real life.

If it is about making positive contributions to this endeavor... I reached out to him 4-5 years ago with the suggestion to automate this process using the platform at the company I worked at. I even received permission from my company to provide the service free of charge, so it was going to be whatever PayPal charged. He just said he wasn't interested in it yet and planned to continue with KVR for the time being.

Maybe don't judge people next time without knowing where they are coming from? I'll let the rest of the KVR to be a judge of your character.

It depends on what kind of fun you like. I'm kind of a stay at home geek, not a party person. But I've found that most humans, and some dogs, appreciate my sense of humor.

Okay, some humans.

Cats don't.

Good to know. I couldn't have inferred that from your post, though.

I have a lot of appreciation for Luftrum and EnGee doing this good work in the first place, as well as the contributions of MANY companies. It gets me a little peeved when people appear to be offering more criticism than thanks/congratulations/assistance.

"Payment are to be made within 48 hours from the end of the auctions. Winning bids not paid in time will be offered to the 2nd highest bidder."

Fair enough.

But the email I've just got from Rally Up says after the "congrats you've one" says "Here's your payment summary:"

So that suggests it's already been paid? (Update: No sign of any debit from my card)

I can't see anywhere in the email where it gives a link or anything for payment?
I am in the same situation. I just checked my VISA card statement and no transaction yet. I did get a mail clearly stating that I won and how much I am supposed to pay. Does anyone know, in case the payment fall thru for some reason, how they will notify us? And how to fix it if that happens?

As for getting the items we won, are we going to get an electronic copy if what we one is software? The email states the delivery information as the address I used to register.
I was able to find my answer regarding the process for those that won from the FAQ (last one on the list -- and it's probably going to take a few weeks which isn't an issue based on the purpose of this charity auction):

I will contact each developer and send them the winners details (email and name) after payment. Give me at least a few days to complete this. I strive to contact the companies only once and that is when all payments regarding that developer group are made - and that will mean a delay, if the last payment for an item is delayed.

After companies are contacted, give them at least a week to process the items before you contact them or write me, since this is a pure goodwill from the developers, licenses and products are send out when they find available time in their schedule. Patience is really the key word here.

As mentioned, I was charged within 15 minutes after the auction ended. The credit card charge shows the following:
WWF VERDENSNATURFONDEN
TUCSON
AZ

Looks like it was processed in the US out of Tuscon, Arizona. Maybe for some of you, there could be a potential block for the transaction (either the location, the organisation, the amount, or a combination of all three). I didn't see any charges when I first submitted the credit card for my first bid, which probably means the first charge to the credit card was when the winner won the bid.

Post

My bank shows it as a pending transaction.

All my bids that I've won resetted to $5. I get this error then click link in the email to finalize the payment:

Hmm... there's a problem
Incorrect payment status

Nothing seems to change that.. So very disappointed unfortunately... Hopefully RallyUp will get back to me to fix this..

For $1300 charges they should have a person at a phone AND it should just work... Seems they let the customer pay and do the alpha testing...
