Yes, definitely - I am using it, don't plan to switch, very happy with my Windows 7. Why are you asking?
BTW, since I'm pro muso AND studio producer, should I answer twice?

Put simply, yes there are many "PRO" people making and producing music on a Windows PC these days because of ("ITB" - in the box technology) today.
But......this was not the case (20-25 years ago), MIDI & hardware was all there really was back then - and MAC was better at integrating with it, so became the Pro choice because of stability & MIDI timing over really big projects especially for TV and film work, then soundtools came out for mac, which later became Protools - (which in turn sparked the audio revolution or rather evolution of digital audio and computers today etc.)
To cut a much much longer story short its the apple "Brand" that's popular today not the computers, but there's no denying the pedigree and history that's for sure.
Cheers.

Atlatnesiti wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2019 10:55 am Topic says it all. All I can see everywhere that all top DJ’s and pro studio musos/composers use Apple Macs and iPads for music composing performing and production.
Are Windows based computers for “bedroom” music makers only?
top djs use vinyl, not a fuckin laptop
Pro musos play instruments, not a fuckin laptop
try broadening your horizons

Majority of actual professionals doesn't, their job is music and their studio machine (which isn't in the same place as their bedroom) is just for that, their smartphones, laptops, tablets are for networking and their home computers are for relaxing, actual bedroom producers have one computer for everything.chk071 wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2019 12:16 pm I'd even say that, regardless of where your software performs better (it's minor differences mostly anyway), you should choose the platform which overall suits you the best. At least if you're looking to do other things with your computer than pure music production (who doesn't?). I'm pretty sure most people don't choose solely based on what's best for a single task, but, rather choose something which suits them for all tasks.

Dunno about that. I'm sure a lot will also browse the net, or fetch emails from time to time. Or do video capturing.Passing Bye wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2019 6:51 pm Majority of actual professionals doesn't, their job is music and their studio machine (which isn't in the same place as their bedroom) is just for that, their smartphones, laptops, tablets are for networking and their home computers are for relaxing, actual bedroom producers have one computer for everything.
But, even if not, i'm also sure that most will be influence one way or the other by what they use for common computer, tablet, or phone use. Most people i've seen who use Mac computers also have a iPphone, for example. So, yeah, i'd say that people don't solely choose what's best for one particular use. Why would a Mac be so much better for audio apps than a Windows computer anyway? It isn't.

A track produced with the same software on mac or win will sound the same obviously.
Windows is more "open" and flexible which brings lots of system and compatibility issues.
Mac is pretty much a "closed" plug and play environment which is why most professionals use it.

They can do that on every device, one don't need to use his working machine for that or those activities should influence the choice of ones working machine which main purpose is to serve one while he's making a living for himself and his loved ones.chk071 wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2019 6:56 pm Dunno about that.
