Up until last year I used to dual boot with BeOS (Free edition) but I changed my graphics card and it wouldn't support it so I had to ditch. It was interesting but not very useful at that stage.

I used to dual boot BeOS too.. it was interesting for me but thats about as far as it went..
I think Zeta Neo, BeOS, or whatever they are calling it these days really needs some 'large' applications on it to get it going.. something to make me WANT to switch from windows.
otherwise I'm happy as a clam with XP...

I used to triple boot with BeOS and Linux, but stopped all that after swichting to Mac.
BeOS was known as "the multimedia OS' but as far as I can see Zeta is not much of a multimedia OS. They still have to work out compatability issues with soundcards etc etc, let alone try to coax some developers into making/porting some serious apps.
As far as I know SampleStudio and Sequitur and Rack747 are the only usable apps for audio on the platform. (sorry if I left something out)
There used to be quite a nice tracker for BeOS, but I think it has died.

Do we really need another closed, proprietary OS? I mean there's a reason why Windows has 95% of the market, and Linux is the only OS currently eating into its market share. And even there, Linux maybe gains 5 PCs a year.
BeOS always sounded good on paper, but what a pain in the ass it was to use with anything but the most generic hardware. I think the keepers of the flame should just let it die out. I gladly let go of my STOS ten years ago and haven't felt worse for it (still all those Steem users - I just don't get it.) Maybe for the nostalgic, but little value for anyone else.
