So long as the gift certificates (in Audioplugin Deals shop) actually can still be used in combination with Sample Logic and Impact Soundworks sales, they seem pretty good. But they do say "Gift certificates cannot be used in combination with any promos"... so they could "correct" that at any time I guess.

I don't agree about APD, but I do agree about the NI coupons. Never been able to use them. They always expire before I can use them for anything NI makes. I've gotten a few good deals in the APD shop. But considering my balance is something like $550, I don't use it enough. They used to have Audio Imperia gift cards. I was planning on buying one to use but they had quit selling them.mladi wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 7:03 pmThat is true and the same goes for the Native Instruments 25 EUR coupons.Calenberger wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 6:41 pm Audio Plugin Deals Shop is a bad example:

While some devs have their base prices way too high in the APD store, some devs do have them very close to their lowest sale price. One that comes to mind is Frozenplain. It's useful when you don't want to wait for a sale.

It was the shop I was referring to when I said I had bought a number of great items. Someone just mentioned Frozenplain. I really like their stuff and have bought a number of their offerings. I am also looking at Audiofier. The store is not exhaustive but there are some gems there.Calenberger wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 9:02 pmThat's what I'm saying...mgw38 wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 8:52 pmThe shop is somewhat useless.courtjestr wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 8:12 pmIt depends on what you are looking for. The problem is that almost everything in the shop was a deal at one point. So if you have been following APD for a while you either already have it or you are not interested in it anyway.

given the "you either already have it or you are not interested in it anyway" doesn't that mean both you and they have been successful in your transactions? I cant think of any music company that is inexhaustible in what it offersmgw38 wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2019 7:14 am The problem is that almost everything in the shop was a deal at one point. I’m not complaining. My point was that I have quite a bit of APD cash just sitting there without any useful purpose.

me too. Years ago we lost a shitload of frequent flyer points when an airline went belly up. Was pretty tragic for us as we were poor at the time and had been carefully shopping to get the various deals. My partner even bought stuff based on points - just so we could get a holiday. Ended up complete bullshit. I dont trust any loyalty programs - I use them if they fall in my lap but its not real money - its just a marketing toolmgw38 wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2019 9:05 am I’m not complaining. Became customer of APD due to the Octavox giveaway, and saw many good deals through the years
A good deal is a good deal
Got 20 bucks award, and 20 bucks more, so used two hours to plow through their shop,..
I would gladly spend money and achieve "rewards", like the Sampletekk Black and White, but the shop contend are just plain useless, or with to high "base price", like Realivox Blue to 80 bucks, not that its extremely expensive, but its also not a big deal, for this kind of software, dating back to 2013-14, from a compagny I have never heard about before, (but they MIGHT be OK obviously),..
Guess a good price on something like Realivox Blue would more be more like 30-40 bucks, at most
Plenty of good deals with actual substance elsewhere, especially now at BF time
I guess I will never spend time to study their shop-"deals" once again
But the main-deals, maybe, only maybe
Yes Native Instrument coupons, and IK's shady universe, plus Plugin Alliance is simular,..
I unsubscribed all, the cirkus from Waves as well, where the customers are the clowns
Guess I should have been smarter not using time on the APD shop, my mistake,..

what i am more and more liking is companies that have a fair price all the time, allow resale, and dont have crazy sales where the prices seem like some random insult to the people who bought it at say the intro price never to be lower blah blah blahHM wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2019 9:41 amDeffinately truemgw38 wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2019 9:05 am I’m not complaining. Valhalla DSP are pretty much one of the few left who have done it right and command respect and 'value' because all the plugins are $50 each and there are simply no sales whatsoever. Whats more, first time buyers can transfer for free, second hand owners pay a small fee ($10 I think) which I think make sense as its a manual process.HM wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2019 10:58 amTrouthfairlyclose wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2019 10:33 am what i am more and more liking is companies that have a fair price all the time, allow resale, and dont have crazy sales where the prices seem like some random insult to the people who bought it at say the intro price never to be lower blah blah blah![]()
There used to be other companies that garnered respect for having a stable system with little to no discounts but they have in recent years bent the knee to the god of 'crazy' sales. I hope its helped them get more sales and new customers, I suspect they lost some of their soul in the process..
