Naw...wouldn't work-then he'd have to change his nick to Buff Loach.Big Tick wrote:Wooly, you can download the individual mp3 direct from Daniel's page. And holding off on beer for a while may be turned to your advantage, it'll turn you fit and slim and muscular and get you lots of attractive women

Not quite the same, is it?

"Textures" was designed to show off another side of Rhino's flexability and includes many new waveforms that unique to this bank. It should be available by Wednesday if the folks at ShareIt have their act together.

It's mine! Mine all mine, I tell you!
Purchased and downloading even as we speak!
There goes the rest of the week for me. And thanks again to Daniel for cranking out kick-ass banks for the Rhino!

I wonder if I made it in as the first buyer?

Wooly,
Please share your opinion on the bank here. I'm sure a lot of Rhino users are interested in hearing your opinion...

I'll be spending tonight and tomorrow night going through them, trying out some of the patches on a couple of tunes I have in the works. I'll happily comment on them as soon as I give 'em a beating erm uhh I mean get to know them better.Big Tick wrote:Wooly,

If it's anything like his other banks, it'll make me remove another synth from my VSTi folder as "now worthless".
Why are these so inexpensive, anyway?

i'm 20 presets in and I have to say I have a big problem
I have mediocre 'arranger' keyboard skills but I make some effort to try to get better
with this bank, everything I play sounds good, beyond good, exquisite. and they give me no reason to get better. i mean, who likes to practice.
i'm going to have to switch off now and then to my Casio CZ 101 for a reality check.
i get the sense Daniel had a very good time putting these together.

Yes, programming these was fun and I wasn't always sure where each sound would take me; so there was a sense of discovery with each creation. Kudos to 'Tick for creating such an awesome synth in the first place!
I noticed that when Rhino 2.0 was released there was only one review; hence many people may think it was only a minor improvment. If some of you have time, please let others know what you think! Thanks.

Ok, I've just spent the past 2 hours in Tracktion with the Rhino and Daniels Texture bank, and all I can say is...
There's a more than decent variety of good stuff here, from what sound like highly processed "normal" instruments up to some spacey pads and atmospheres that make me glad I didn't waste money on hardware! Not only is everything musically useful (especially for space/ambient stuff or deep soundtrack-like orchestrations), but Daniel has made excellent use of the slider assignments - a serious plus since my controller is a PCR-80 and I have eight knobs and eight sliders I can assign to things. Some of the patches are fairly complex and might not sit well in an extremely complex mix, but most fit quite well with 2-3 other instruments (max, I'd say). CPU use isn't too bad on my 2.4GHz P4 given that some of these patches are more complex than I've heard on some higher-end hardware tone generators.
If you're doing ambient/soundscape/new-age/electronic soundtrack work, buy this NOW. Honestly, this bank is worth far more than is being charged, get it before Daniel regains his sanity and ups the cost.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to spend some quality time with this bank and see what I can come up with before the weekend.
