INS Maker queries MIDI instruments and creates custom Cakewalk/Sonar .ins (instrument definition) files. INS Maker currently is designed to support the following instruments:
Access Virus, Virus Rack and Indigo
Ensoniq MR-Rack, MR-61, MR-76 and ZR-76
Korg TRITON, pro, proX, Rack, Studio, and KARMA
Kurzweil K2000, K2500 and K2600
Novation Nova, Nova Laptop, Nova II, Supernova, Supernova II
Roland JP-8000 and JP-8080
Per the author: "If you would like to add support for other synths and can program in VC++, please send me your modifications so that I can include them in future versions."
This could be really cool if it were more comprehensive - hopefully there are some C++ programmers out there who can assist.

Cool. Nice find. I wrote a similar tool a long time ago that does the same thing, but only for kurzweil synths (k2000, k2500, etc.).
Mine's a little bit different in that it doesn't trigger the sysex dumps directly, but instead reads sysex dump files - so basically you have to do a dump in Cakewalk first.
I'll post it if anyone's interested, but probably isn't needed in light of this tool. Only advantage I guess would be if you already have a bunch of syxex dumps of various bank sets. Tool is called Syx2Ins (or Syx2Ins2 for later version).
