If i choose project sample rate 192K (in the project settings of Reaper) does that mean if i load up a synth like Sylenth1 and record something with it will give me a 192K sample rate?

Not necessarily. It will record the output as that. Before you go crazy with sample rates, go to https://xiph.org/video/.

sorry what do you mean "it will record the output as that" ? i didn't fully understand

i think it means that the internal processing of a plugin is different then sample rate of your project.
some plugins will use the sample rate, others have independent internal settings (some plugins you can choose, like reaktor, or other plugins oversampling, but that is something else oversampling.).

it is my guess, because a sampe rate of 192Khz, some people want it and swear to it, takes huge amount of cpu load.

internally a plugin would use different kind of processing the signal, there are more options than 1..., but the "output" will be 192Khz, although it isn't really 192Khz.

but some plugins react well on high sample rates, or high oversampling. for instance reaktor. you hear the difference. but the load! the load! and all my projects are always 24 bit/48 KHz, and even if you set reaktor to 192Khz you here the difference (is it oversampling it uses, it must be because....), on that project settings.

if you want to use 192Khz, you must ask yourself why?

He means that Minecraft will still look blocky on PC with overclocked i9, 4K screen and 2080Ti in SLI :)

The file will be recorded at 192kHz. The synth may not natively generate at that rate and may not produce frequencies that require that rate. Watch the videos because digital audio doesn’t work quite the way many people suppose.
