SX3: Initial experience with it...

I don't ask at cubase.net because it's a swamp of negativity overthere anyway.
I played with it the last week (I didn't started a real project with it), and I had some crashes (or the serious error and restart dialogs, without a real crash). Probally it has to do with the eXT sampler beta witch I'm experimenting with.
But without being fixated on certain features i would have liked and are not implemented and some obvious non working stuf - overlooked things but not really undermining bugs- I don't really understand why there is such negativityabout it.
Some new features are great. I like the play order track, something i tried to simulate with the loop/region markers. It gives an immense freedom because you can structure your project in a virtual way. I'm alway making so much stuff in one project (parts, ideas, variations ) without that it's placed in the musical structural form. with play order it possible to structure it very fast; and you can flatten that to a new project.
Als the new volumecurves per event are an good addition.
The workspaces work a bit better then the screen sets (ala logic)
any thought, problems, comments

Do you know if they fixed the dual-monitor display problems that were in SX2?

I do not have two monitors, though I am considering adding another monitor. It is my understanding, however, that SX2 was not able to maximize in only one monitor, leaving the other open for instruments, palettes, etc. Rather, it must either be manually stretched into place (simulating being maximized in one monitor, but with several disadvantages) or maximized to spread over both monitors.

Doug, I've not used the multiple monitor support function in Cubase but simply stretched the blank (no project) window to fill both screens, this way I can have an editor fill both or just one screen and use the other screen for VSTis or what ever - e.g. mixer and effects etc. I can't recommend it enough - if you have multiple outputs on you video card and can find decent monitors at a reasonable price. Basically I set-up the screens how I want them and when returning to Cubase (say after a restart) they all come back as I'd set them up.
Hope this helps.
