OK. So, what's the difference.

More often lately I see many people refer to a "project studio". Not so long ago it was a "home studio".

A project studio is supposed to be a studio dedicated for a specific project (I would think). A home studio is a studio at home.

Is it not cool anymore to refer to a home studio? Do people just use the term project studio for any snob value? If so, is there any snob value in the term?

My studio is at my home and I use it for all my projects. So is it a project studio or is it a home studio?

A home studio; first it was just a home, then some equipment came in, then more equipment and it becomes more a studio and less a home.
It will end up being a studio where you also happen to live in...

At least, that is the case for B29...

my wife has recently started referring to 'your studio', i think that's very generous of her, as it was intended to become my son's bedroom.

actually the two have had different meanings for years, I remember recording mag defined them once. If I remember a project studio can be in a home but is generally for commercial purposes, like jimgles, other artists, ect. Where a home studio is generally for the specific use of the owner/songwriter and is in his home...

A project studio could be set up elsewhere. A home studio, by definition, is in your home.

my bathroom is no studio and my studio is no bathroom,
but my bathroom is a bathroom and my studio is a studio.
and my home is my home and not yours.
