I can't even begin to figure out where to begin to show how blatantly wrong this is. If this were true, there would be no need for different types of instruments. Let's play Beethoven's 5th symphony with kazoos.

The statement is so utterly ridiculous that it almost doesn't even dignify a response. But somebody had to say it.

The statement is utterly ridiculous.
Beethoven wrote 722 works, 9 symphonies, 9 concertos, 32 piano sonatas. But most of his work is written for a few instruments or are songs. Then again, other composers have done the same, with different results. However, when it comes to popularity, Beethoven only needed a single piano to shine.
You know what? You're missing the point. But I care so little about this that I'm not going to bother to debate this anymore.

I'll just leave you with this.

Try getting this song to have the same impact played on a piano. Good luck with that.

Within the same category of instruments, it doesn't really matter. Beethoven couldn't care less whether he was using a Kawai or Yamaha piano 8)

That Genesis - Watcher of The Skies song just begs for quantization (in some parts).

Please tell me you didn't say that.

lol most arguments here: "x and y are close enough to each other." "no, x and y are nowhere near the same."

Well, this Genesis song sounds like noodling. Same with classical music. Nice tunes, but then they noodle away. That said, I am a simple man who likes simple catchy tunes.

Same here, doesn't have anything special in my view.

This "noodling" as you call it, was an iconic Genesis track that ultimately launched their career and is considered almost an anthem by Genesis fans.

If I discuss this any longer I may just break down into tears.

Now I understand why people have to die. Eventually, they can no longer relate to the world around them.

This is just beyond sad.

Vurt, they don't understand. Sometimes I weep for this generation that listens to Kanye West and thinks THAT'S genius.
