This is what you get I'm afraid when your marketing tactic is to drip feed info over weeks. Trying to 'tease' with minimal info is of course going to trigger 'not worth the upgrade fee' comments. Just stop the games, release all the details of the new version and then people will finally be able to comment from a position of having all the facts.
Sorry, I'm sure I'm not the only one who hates this bu11$h1t marketing nonsense.

maybe, but you have to understand, then you wont have any infos at the moment at all. If refx had released all infos at once, it would have been on release - on black friday, not earlier. If it had been released all on black friday it might could have been overseen, if its released too early, it might get forgotten. I think from the marketing point of view they done it right.

Honestly, I had the same sentiments about them releasing the info all at once, but it's their baby, their sale, they've obviously thought long n hard about the marketing plan here.
It's working, it's created controversy and news, though I too think it's a weird game,it probably helps them with sales. So lets leave it there..
6 more days and we will all know, if it's worth it to you to upgrade or not. There's a few things I've wanted to do in Nexus 2 for years when it comes to creating sounds,I'm still hoping layering the patches is in there, and a nicer mixer.
So far I'm pretty happy to see what reFX has done with it.

Hey msvs, it's your choice, just accept you have to take the rough with the smooth with these type of tactics. Reacting badly to someone's (in my opinion justified) criticism only reflects badly on ReFx.
On a more positive note, I'm actually looking forward to the update...I'm somewhat relieved to be honest that my substantial investment in Nexus is moving forward - I was afraid Nexus was going to be abandoned, so it's all good

Too true. I wish I'd gone to the ReFX site first to get info. I AM excited about the possibilities, but the few posts I previously read misled me a little. How amazing if they COULD add some improved mixing, stacking, and modifying of the presets! Time will tell.MikeCallon wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 4:25 pm ...I'm somewhat relieved to be honest that my substantial investment in Nexus is moving forward - I was afraid Nexus was going to be abandoned, so it's all good![]()

For me, Refx has already given me enough info already to know I'm upgrading. I will finally want to use Nexus on a regular basis.
With Nexus 2 things like having to hunt through layers to figure out which one to shut off, patch load times (vs say, Hive,Dune,or Zebra) and a lousy browser were too annoying to deal with and made Nexus my last go-to choice. They didn't have to address those issues to perfection, just so I will want to use it.
I love the sound and usefulness of the patches and the lack of knobby deepness which matches my lack of interest in knobby deepness perfectly. Now that they've made it a more usable (maybe even a lot more usable ) I'm Looking forward to it.

I'm not seeing anything more useable tbh, other than there's now a category column in the browser (which we could mimic by searching for PD, LD etc before anyway). I'm reserving my judgement so far, but I can't lie, that new UI has me worried.dblock wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 4:36 pm For me, Refx has already given me enough info already to know I'm upgrading. amazing that people can decide about something they haven't really seen, or tried. also amazing that people think a plugin should accomodate their specific needs, or it's a 'fail'.
at least this forum is entertaining...

Don’t worry, Manuel is used to it. There’s a 700 page thread about is synth Avenger, and there’s complaining there almost all the time.fisherKing wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 5:43 pm amazing that people can decide about something they haven't really seen, or tried. also amazing that people think a plugin should accomodate their specific needs, or it's a 'fail'.

Now it looks like another boring generic lifeless VST.
At least I hope there are more skins, removable piano and resizable UI (and browser).

Same. Point 1 : Right,it's crazy to envision using something that looks helpful,or better then the last option. Without trying a meal first at a restaurant, I can't decide, because I can't demo it.fisherKing wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 5:43 pm amazing that people can decide about something they haven't really seen, or tried. also amazing that people think a plugin should accomodate their specific needs, or it's a 'fail'.

Point 2 : Yeah completely selfish to think we should buy something that we actually want to use in our productions. Again back to the restaurant, sure how about you decide how I'd like my steak cooked.
