I want a simpler gui. Looks nice, but will miss the simplicity of v2, close to perfection I'd say. This is a move away from the appeal of simplicity.

As I have a strong preference for bold, clear knob pointers, the Alchemy knobs look much better! The background "fill" indicator ring is a good addition, but it should only be an addition, not a replacement for a clear line marker in knob design, IMO.steve.lindqvist wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 9:00 pm I get a bit Apple Alchemy vibes when looking at the new GUI:

Exactly! The good thing of Nexus has always been its simplicity. Small and straightforward. Now it feels quite counterproductive.Touch The Universe wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 10:18 pm I want a simpler gui. Looks nice, but will miss the simplicity of v2, close to perfection I'd say. Ok folks, let’s try one thing! After complaining about the upgrade price, the GUI, the copy-protection, the speed of details revealed, and so on, try naming one thing you like so far.

I like there are 3 dots everywhere which means there's a menu hidden. Besides that I'm not such a fan of the recent screenshot. I also don't know when I have seen a quadratic plugin editor the last time...Ryan99 wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2019 12:06 am Ok folks, let’s try one thing! I like everything I'm seeing for Nexus 3 @ the official reFX website. Though I will reserve my cash for the features I'm hoping make it in. Which is the ability to layer / mix better in the vst. Hoping the sound engines better as well. Time will tell.

Thouugh thus far I have some reservations with N3, I don't agree at all that N2 was "close to perfection". It was a horrible fiddly mess for me. Apart from its tiny tiny UI (or a massively blown up tiny tiny UI) it was absurd that the only way to find all your bass patches was the scroll down to the bottom of the browser then type BA into the search box. On that basic usability when finding a patch, this looks streets ahead.plrdmus wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 11:33 pmExactly! The good thing of Nexus has always been its simplicity. Nexus2 for me was definitely NOT about workflow.noiseboyuk wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2019 12:47 amThouugh thus far I have some reservations with N3, I don't agree at all that N2 was "close to perfection". I like:
- 3 dots
- tagging
- macros
- big screen
- features (holding my breath)
I wish:
- touch screen friendly (especially the browser part, this will makes live performance much much smoother. The tiny scroll bar is hard to aim with finger , swiping on the preset list is AWESOME. Ableton does addressed that issue )
- mixer
- patch stacking and manipulation
- sample manipulatiom
- low level preset editing
- sequencer to edit the rich and excellent SQ presets (well done team

However you could organize the preset folders how you wanted, as long as they contain the .fxp files.noiseboyuk wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2019 12:47 am Thouugh thus far I have some reservations with N3, I don't agree at all that N2 was "close to perfection". You can make a folder with all the "BA ***.fxp" files and the presets will appear there.
Well, yes, N3 improves that, but it's not something we couldn't have solved in less than 1min.
And for the UI... Nexus2 size (length and width) looks perfect on a 1080p screen, and as simple as a ROMpler should be. Of course it was not perfect but lots of people see N3 UI as a regression.

Well, the resizable UI is important to me because I'm super old and my eyes have turned to mush, and I have to run the UI a little larger for legibility, therefore the ability to customize the UI is one of the more important new features to me. I can live with the look of this new UI just fine, I think.
The 2.0 version had too much wasted space, for me. But as an overall design, all that negative space was fairly elegant, IMO. But on my laptop, a little more crowded layout would be appreciated, i.e. bigger parts on a smaller footprint. But that's is just me, and I know that's a very unpopular idea. But resizing will be grand!!!

Haha they look similar but N3 has the timbre thing on top of the presets associated with colors, pretty neat.

Can drum loops be edited so to only use a snare and kick from different drum loops?
