about Analog Vs Digital, there too i can hear diferences

Granted again that ex: in that diva vs behringer modelD test i prefered the Diva in almost all examples provided!...
.... But i also listened to demos of Behringer Crave Vs Moog Mother32 and prefered the Crave.
.. and in another Crave demo i understood really fast i have no VST that can sound quite like that,
on the other hand VST's can do a lot that crave/analog synths can't too, starting with ammount of LFO's, Envelopes and filters to start...

In the end each and every synth has it's own peculiarities vs other synths and overlaps vs others, what matter is what do you need and do you like the sound?
if you decide you need (that thing you're looking for/whatever it is.... an overdrive/the way a filter sweep sounds/etc/etc) and have the $ why not....

Granted!...In the end it won't make the original synth or mixing/mastering any better !!!!!!!!

but we also have to take in consideration there's specific technics to make things sound better, one i can recall is special software to make Youtube videos stream Hi quality Audio by replacing the Audio after posting the Video in the platform

something also relevant is the uncompreseed format vs the end coded format and who does it,
I'm almost sure a 24 Bit Wav 44.1 to a 128 Bitrate MP3 end result is not the same as 16 Bit 48Khz as source

I'm sure there's a lot of other little tricks ;)

... just as an example
https://tatsyn.bandcamp.com/track/archangels-rain
https://soundcloud.com/tatsyn/archangel ... se-version
I think it has less to do with the audio format, but with the way it is recorded and uploaded.
Of the mp3's I bought recently some are very loud and powerful, while others are way too quiet, despite being exactly the same format, same rate, bit depth etc.
The funny thing is that one of the songs I bought is also on YT, where it sounds much better than my officially bought file, although it is the very same version, i.e. no remix or anything.

yes, you can upload a 24 bit WAV to Bandcamp, then Bandcamp provides 24 bits WAV Download option too.

.. but from the original 24bits wave they process it to all the other formats and from my experience something happens in the process too (way better then soundcloud imo, but not 100% the same as exporting directly in the DAW to whatever format..... imo)

I own most of the top soft synths in the OP list, plus a Roland SE-02. Why hardware? Inspiration and somethings you currently can’t get in software. I wanted one analog mono with no exact clone.

I bought an OB-6 desktop less than a week ago. It’s the only synth I’ve ever heard that’s almost made my eyes tear up and give me goosebumps. It’s the most beautiful synth I’ve ever heard. Full stop. To me. It’s not a tool, it’s an instrument.

All my softsynths are tools. Tools I happily make music with. The hardware is special, and the SE-02 is great, but not the OB-6.

I’ve tried every Oberheim VST emulation. None of them come close, though a few are playing in the same game (I look forward to the Synapse Audio OB-Xa). None of the YouTube videos capture the full sound of the P6 or OB-6. It’s more like listening to music through a telephone.

If I bury the OB in a mix, no one will be able to tell - it’ll just be another sound, more for me. If there’s a part for it to shine, it’ll shine like a motherfckker.

In conclusion, I would definitely get a bunch of the soft synths in the OP first. But then.... if those aren’t doing it for you, go find your one true synth. It may or may not be the OB-6. But it’s worth the quest.

If you have a problem with my question, which is more than valid, then just ignore it. No need to come here and be a troll.

I love how poster made a post in the exact same way he is flipping attitude to this guy over.
Your post isn't valid. You have an opinion. Do you really need someone to explain what your ears (incorrectly) tell you?

It shows real lack of experience is all. OB6 smokes any plugin. You can't get close to it, especially with friggin OMNISPHERE aka reverbsphere.

It costs thousands of dollars more so it MUST sound better. Right. Right! Right? .....

It sounds different. “Better” is in the ear of the beholder. It also offers a different user experience than a plugin - again, “better” or not is per person. Value will also differ per person.

Hardware instruments and effects certainly aren’t needed to make music (maybe a few exceptions for people with certain physical challenges).
