Cubase Partially Unresponsive to Mouse Input

This is a weird problem I m having with Cubase and my new UR44C. If I use any other ASIO driver, everything is alright but with the Yamaha/Steinberg driver for the UR44C, Cubase goes all funny. Basically, the problem is that the Mixer stops responding to clicks and click-and-drag operations, but not completely. I can't click and drag the pan or level sliders, I can't click to solo but clicking to mute works fine, as does clicking on the read/write automation buttons. I can still solo from the arrangement window (or whatever you call it) and I can change the sliders on the mixer using my scroll wheel. That means I can still work but it's kind of weird what's going on. It feels like I have accidentally pressed a hotkey that's changed the way Cubase responds but I can't work it out. Anyone got any ideas?

I assume the mouse is USB too ? Could be a USB conflict ? Are your USB3 drivers up to date ? As the soundcard is USB3 IIRC. Try different USB slots. If the interface isnt laggy, and still smooth then i'd be inclined to think it was that.

No, it's a Bluetooth mouse so there shouldn't be a conflict. If there was, I imagine the mouse would stop working everywhere, not just in the mixer. But thanks for the response, it's appreciated.

True, and if the bluetooth is coming off the motherboard, then definitely no conflict, unless its one of those USB to Bluetooth dongles, can only really imagine that somehow the drivers are causing this, but quite how is beyond me, bluetooth and ASIO drivers aren't related as far as I know. Is the mouse programmable ? Mine has various keystrokes assigned to the buttons, which is edited in a program. I'm just grasping at straws but never know it might shed light on it.

Well, I got it sorted. I needed the right cable to try it but plugging the UR44C into the Thunderbolt port has everything running smooth as silk now. You'd think that if they were selling a device for it's Type C compatibility (that's what the "C" in the model no, is for), they put a Type C to Type C cable in the box with it but they don't, it's a Type C to Type A. So I picked up a cable on my way home this arvo and it's all sorted.
I feel a bit clever now, too, because I paid the extra $8 for the "C" model with the thought that plugging it into the TB port might be good for performance. Still, it's a weird situation for it to be so specific in what did and didn't work.
Again, thanks for taking an interest.

Glad you got it sorted, this is where forums can be useful, regardless of any other shizzle, id be right pissed off if I couldn't use a DAW the way I wanted to for a wierd and unknown reason
But in this case, I can't think of motherboards with a type C connection anyway yet ? Most have USB 3 but type A as you said. Hence why it's USB2 compatible. Strange move by them.
