How to get Wavelab Elements 9.5 to ignore plugins

ok, I'm on KvR so of course I have too many plugins. Wavelab helpfully tells me I have 266 and it loads most of them at start up.

I really want to just have a smaller number of plugins that Wavelab loads.

It seems the way to do that is to type the names of the plugins you don't want and add them one by one to the ignore list. I had hoped that on the list of plugins shown under preferences / plugins I could simply right click and select ignore.

Any ideas for a quicker / better way of doing this other than messing around with my plugin folders and their contents?

Create a different VST folder in which you create shortcuts to the main one?

EDIT: just saw your last paragraph
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

There used to be a vst menu where you could deselect/select plugins using a tick box. I don't remember how to find it, ain't used Wavelab for a few years.

Doesn't get any better than that i guess...

In Wavelab 10 you go File>Preferences>Plug-ins to manage the ignore list. I would not say it is a no-brainer. But it looks like you can just list the names of the plugins. It would take some work, but for a working studio environment, that's what we do, ha.

Not sure that is available any more - that really would be ideal.

Yes, that's how it appears to work in 9.5 too. Pity in the plugin listing it doesn't allow you to simply ignore them there.

hmm 266 plugins .don't think I use it enough to justify that amount of effort. I think I might just create a favourites group - hopefully somewhere that would then appear prominently.

I can only say from experience that it isn't THAT much work though. 266 may sound like much, but, you can quickly switch through there really. :)

In Cubase, you have to do it too, if you want to create a custom plugin list. Actually, that's much, much more work.
