I think that the most popular and loved are Electra, Icarus and Gladiator(maybe). If I'm not wrong I think that I have read Markus saying somewhere Icarus was his favorite, but don't know very well.

Saurus 2 gets a lot of love. Nemesis and Rayblaster are quite specialised, but still popular. I have been using Icarus more and more tbh and I use it more than Gladiator and E2 these days, I didn't think I would in all honesty as I love the other 2.

But is honestly a case of what you know, I know E2 really well, so it's been my "goto" for everything as it's easier to get a sound from it that I am looking for. But now I use Icarus more, i've started doing it with that.

Yes and as a Ikarus 1 owner I now feel finally ripped of with the upgrade prize:

- 89 € for Tone2 Ikarus1 NEW from Bestservice including upgrade to version 2
- 79 € for upgrading from 1 to 2, no intro prize, no BF, nothing

I think my upgrade might be Rayblaster (59 €) or any other alternative especially as I dont really need another workstation like Avenger.........

It will probably be cheaper to buy a new licence and sell the old one!
Same with all software, great deals for new customers, existing loyal customers get screwed.
I bought Rapid for about the same as the I2 upgrade cost, so I probably won’t upgrade strait away now, I will wait for a sale on the upgrade...shame, 40E for the upgrade is about right

Tone2 should have done a discounted pre order, it would have been good for their cash flow and we would have bought it early before we all spent up (and got new toys to play with) in the amazing BF sales...If people are spent up after the sales the uptake on this very expensive update may be disappointing for T2, I would have pre ordered, I plan to update...I probably won’t do it immediately now....

Same with FXPansion (Cypher 2). No upgrade discount, upgrade price almost the same as a new one...

I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting somethin about 50 euros, eventually 60 euros. 80 euros is way more than what I was expecting. I think I will refrain to update right now too (although I was looking forward to test the new features)

Yes, currently the update from V1.6 to - V2 costs about the same as a new user buying V2!

Definitely taken the shine off the update and I will just wait until the update goes on sale, I'm not that desperate to update.

Yeah to be honest this is the only thing I'm not so happy about Tone2, If there is at least an intro price for the upgrade it would be pretty good, it would be a considerate move at least, I mean from the very beginning of this thread the main concern is: The price. Affordability and consideration is a big issue and it plays a role at the hour of decision with customers.

Many people's concerns from the beginning was/is the price and is understandable.

I really can understand your frustration. I am not happy about the aggressive discount that best-service is currently doing either. As a developer there is not much i can do against it. The European laws prevent this.
I have to apologize for this pricing and we will discuss if we will continue the distribution with 3rd party resellers in the future.

Just give us a BF/intro update price and I suspect many would be happy.
I would gladly even prepay it before Icarus 2 is released.

That's one solution- but you can still by numerous other full synths for the cost of this 1.6-2 'update', you just have the price too high for an update even against the normal cost of Icarus.

But I don't think that the issue is about best services Markus, that's pretty affordable for newcomers, yes, and I hope they celebrate that deal, but the main reason why many of us have mixed feelings about the upgrade price is that is a little bit pricey even compared to many synths upgrades in the market right now, and no, I'm not saying with this that Icarus2 is not worth an upgrade price or asking stuffs for free, we only at least want some introductory price.

I personally love Tone2 synths, but also would like to see better deals in this aspect if possible; previous customers would feel better, it would motivate current customers to buy more Tone2 products even and support your works ext.
