Wow, that IS a nice feature!kuniklo wrote:
It saves the undo history along with the song so it's available when you re-load it.

Interesting choice, ttoz. Ironically, I went the other way a few months back and couldn't be happier. For the first time in years, my computer truly feels like a transparent tool where I can focus almost exclusively on my music with very few distractions. The OS/hardware "just works" and all of my twitchy, tweaky, fiddly PC habits have been effectively neutralized. I never thought I would hear myself say that, but this DualG5 system coupled with OSX has made my computer life at home a whole lot simpler. Since I deal with Windows systems and corporate networks all day long at work, it still brings a huge smile to my face when I get home and power up my Mac.
Fortunately, with SX being dual-platform, it allowed me to continue working with all of my projects as I familiarized myself with Logic. I'm extremely happy with Logic Pro 7 so far and its elegant workflow has been yet another breath of fresh air. Logic seems greatly misunderstood by many, but once you get beyond the initial setup process, I have found it extremely composer friendly.
It is true that you miss out on a number of freeware plug-ins and some commercial ones as well that aren't cross platform, but this hasn't been much of an issue for me. Nearly all of my commercial synths transferred right over and the wide array of effects plugins and instruments in Logic have left me quite satiated in most departments. Overall I am very happy indeed.

Recording to hard disk when you have a huge Neve board or a yamaha DM-1 ,fuelled with some nice Eventide and Lexicon processors plus valve pre amps and compressors .it´s a bit pointeless wich interface someone use unless fuctionallity it´s to be considered ,then IMHO nothing tops Nuendo .kuniklo wrote:
It's easy to cherry pick features to make one host look better than another, but the simple fact is that "professionals" use Logic, Cubase, Sonar and Protools. More often than not it seems like people tend to consider the host they personally spent the most money on to be the most "pro".

Oooh, I didn't know that. I should check it out.stag wrote: this processing can be saved as batch eg.:denoise, normalse, remove dc offset ,compression ,EQ or whatever and apply to similar tracks.![]()
I only wish the offline processing could be taking directly from a mixer channel - then it'd be like a "true" freeze.
Forever,

Since the music I do is nothing like that I'll just have to take your word for it. For my style of working Logic is a better fit.stag wrote: Recording to hard disk when you have a huge Neve board or a yamaha DM-1 ,fuelled with some nice Eventide and Lexicon processors plus valve pre amps and compressors .it´s a bit pointeless wich interface someone use unless fuctionallity it´s to be considered ,then IMHO nothing tops Nuendo .

just rigth click on a selected audio object and appears a context menu to choose from pluggins or internal FX to apply. A chaainer plug cames very handy to take advantage of it since you can take as a preset the processing applied on a selected track and that´s it. the audio clip or entire track has been processed and ready to further editing. Kind of what freeze should be.
to undo rigth click again and then check Audio/offline process history there it´s possible to undo anything or save as batch in Nuendo .
All the Best.

Yeah, thanks... but I already knew about that. I don't use Chainer, so I suppose that option would be good.stag wrote:Jeez wrote: I only wish the offline processing could be taking directly from a mixer channel - then it'd be like a "true" freeze.Hi Kim:

Saving offline processing "presets" or "batches" sounds awesome though. I've had a few times when I've wanted to apply the same processing to a bunch of different clips.
Forever,
Kim.
