I just bought the current version on sale, as this one was on my list for quite some time & after reading Marcus statement on his work and (maybe) final craftsmanship. I do respect this & think it is well worth to support; also I had to remember that I actually payed a ridiculous low price on Nemesis, which is another Gem in the Tone2 - Arsenal. Keep on Rockin' & Thank you!

It is even more hard for myself and I am also very annoyed about this. After all fees and taxes i only earn €20 per unit if people buy the stuff outside of our own webshop through a 3rd party reseller.
I will quit the collaboration with Best Service for Icarus after this weekend.
Icarus2 will be distributed exclusively through our own webshop where i can guarantee a stable prices and a comfortable product distribution to the customers.

Wait... is this true?

If I knew about this I only would buy exclusively from Tone2 to support you, of course as long as there is some affordable sales available.

Its the same price (or less) on all of the 3rd party re-sellers it seems.

In this case we will have to change the upgrade rules. It would be unfair to the existing customers.
The upgrade will be only free for those who paid the regular price for Icarus or bought the plugin from our own webshop.
Black friday purchasers will not get it for free.

I had no idea these 'sales' werent Authorized via Tone2... so I have to excuse myself for picking one of those up (just seemed like 'another' good #bf - deal) But its not a problem to pay for an Upgrade, after your explanation. Maybe one thing to consider would be; that the 'discounted' price + upgrade price somehow shouldnt exceed the total price on Tone2's own Webshop. Just my humble opinion, of course.

So customers that bought from Bestservice in good faith thinking this was a regular BF sale now end up having to pay more for Icarus 2 because you are suddenly changing the rules? But then I assume it is possible to get a refund from Bestservice and order directly from you instead?

Wow, what a dick move. I was close to getting Icarus during the sale in the assumption of getting the upgrade for free as you announced on the first page of this very thread. But now I will just skip it altogether. It's not the customer's fault that you have trouble with third party vendors. I'm sorry for those who already pulled the trigger and who now realize they are getting screwed. Pretty shady to treat 3rd party customers as second class.

I can only hope you reconsider this.

As you decided to buy from BS instead from tone2 where is announced over there that you will get a free update?
