Parker was the first to try this concept but the intent was different.

It was simply to harden the soft woods.
Later purposes were changed. Now it's believed that cooking the wood allows all the moisture, sugar to be released so you get.

Lighter more old growth tone out of new growth wood (Gibson)
Greater rigidity for the neck (Fender / Charvel)
Pre aged played tops for acoustic tones Takamine
Takamamie guitar
Do you think cooking the wood is worth it or do you think it's just marketing?

I don’t know, but I’ve played a few guitars that definitely deserve to be exposed to flames in one way or another...

Ah, looks like the people who designed Skyrim's weaponry are now making guitars. After all, who wouldn't want a tool whose purpose seems to be harming its wielder?

I tried.....but my guitar wouldn't fit in my oven. Maybe I need a commercial pizza oven.

My oven is stuck at about gas mark 4 - takes about 45 minutes to do a pizza. I mistakenly bought what I thought was a microwave shepherds pie last week, but it was an oven bake thing. Says 45 minutes on it; if I put it in now it could be ready for Christmas.
