How does it compare with Eventide BlackHole, esp for huge, lush reverbs? Does it take more CPU than BH? Can one achieve similar results with BH?

IMO, they're quite similar. I find Blackhole is a tad darker (seems to be a Eventide thing...satYatunes wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 8:41 pm How does it compare with Eventide BlackHole, esp for huge, lush reverbs? Does it take more CPU than BH? Can one achieve similar results with BH?
Didn't try Comet yet on percussive sounds, but, it seems to be more of a "unnatural" sounding reverb, not so much the ultra realistic stuff. But, horses for courses.

^^^ Thank you. The price is very tempting even though I don't need another reverb. The only thing that's holding me back is that it is NFR. Downloaded the demo 3 days back but didn't install. Kinda avoiding it
but this thread piqued my interest again.

Do you already have Black Hole? You're probably in good hands already with it and Comet, although I love it and it's stunning (I don't have Black Hole), it probably won'r bring alot on your reverb table if you have Black Hole. If you're looking for a reverb totally different than any other reverb you already have, you should check Adaptiverb from Zynatiq instead. That one, is a unique weird creature like nothing else.satYatunes wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 9:09 pm ^^^ Thank you. The price is very tempting even though I don't need another reverb. Damn, why did I come here! I absolutely love huge, spacey reverbs. Anytime. I am not currently making music where Comet would be very useful, but the lush sound and the glide features make it tempting.
Doesn't make sense to ask any questions about it, especially for the $29 price it is available at. Tempted to press the buy button...

Actually, I came to my senses yesterday after pitting it against Blackhole. I much prefer Blackhole's sound. Different flavors, but it didn't really give me anything I couldn't get with either Blackhole, the luscious Xenoverb (the perennial underdog) or B2. The preset glide is nice, but it's also the sort of gimmick I can't see myself using that often.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 9:47 am Damn, why did I come here! My VST folder's bloated enough as it is. If you're lacking in quality reverbs, though, this is an utter no-brainer.
