I believe they are indeed on sale now, not much of a discount on the newer releases though, unfortunately. :dog:

I'm more worried about the people saying that older projects with Nexus loads up with the Init patch with N3. That's not good..

I agree - I have some 3rd party preset packs for nexus 2 such as Hex Loops Trap, AUDIOBOOST Big Orchestra XP, etc...

I assume the presets used the factory samples as they are only fxp collections.

What is weird is that there are some that work just fine, and other collections that don't work at all.

is there synthesis onboard
yes, quite much actually. It has real OSCs with PWM, LFOs, Envs, modmatrix etc
Dope! Just to clarify, I can use this as a synth?
I'm not 100% certain as I don't own Nexus 3 yet, but I also heard that it can be used as a synth.

Couldn’t find an answer to this - does Nexus 3 replace Nexus 2 in existing sessions or is it a separate plugin?

The update is so inconsistent....
I am completely missing the default tags for dark, bright, active and so on... not a single preset has a tag!

And why does the ROM Extension 2 have PREVIEW sounds when you single click it (which is quite handy!) before loading the preset,
but all other expansions/factory does not have this preview feature?

Guess it's a buggy release, I'm sure they are working on fixes.

This person sure thinks so, he sounds very depressed, so depressed he doesn't seem to have plugged his keyboard in.

He does say there's no manual but there is, though to be fair to him ReFX do hide it quite well (https://refx.com/nexus/manual). The main thing is knowing if I update, will it replace all Nexus 2 instances with Nexus 3, and if it does will they all reliably load correctly. I'll hold fire til I'm sure about this.

Thanks, I'll definitely hold fire until its stable then.

Slightly curious though, a user a few pages back said they'd had to covert all their patches in Nexus 2 before 3 could read them. Wonder how could they have done that if it replaces 2?

I would like to say thanks who responded to my posts/enquiries.

I was on a verge of getting N3 upgrade and Avenger. Clarification on activation system tells me not to do it. These days I am a casual user and sometimes I have longer gaps in music making. Potential hassles with licensing process simply put me off. Also if I am reading it correctly, N3 replaces N2 and it seems that one cant have both at the same time.

My wallet is safe now :)

Yes, it does. Or at least changes the original plugin file, so that older projects may or may not been loaded correctly. In case of Logic, my old projects are loading the correct channel strips including Nexus3.

You have to save(!) your own (or 3rd party presets) as own presets (not just tag them as favorites), then they should appear in Nexus3 as well. At least in my case all my edited re-saved (user)presets are there.

Yes, at the moment only new Nexus3 libraries (ROM 2, EDM 5, ...) are tagged. Preview function also works only for new Nexus3 content, but I guess there will be an update, previewing a single note when clicking on the preset should be easily be integrated as batch for the old content
