You have to save(!) your own (or 3rd party presets) as own presets (not just tag them as favorites), then they should appear in Nexus3 as well. At least in my case all my edited re-saved (user)presets are there.
Thank you. But my head hurts... I still don't get how you can save presets in Nexus 2 after you've installed Nexus 3 - Nexus 2 surely is no longer available to you?

All that said, I don't think I've saved anything new as a preset, I just tweak the patch and that instance is in whatever session I'm in. Is everything loading ok there with user tweaks?

Kinda disappointing that after the 10 year wait they've only tagged the brand new stuff. There's a fun moment in that Maneul / Mike video where Mike says they delayed release for 6 months so that its perfect on launch. Um... when even the original factory stuff isn't tagged... um...

( To get older Presets that work in N2 to now work in N3 )

Warning this is not official from reFX so try at your own risk, but this will work in windows..

You can rename your old Nexus 2 vst into something like > Nexus 2.dll

Now install N3 - you can name it > Nexus 3.dll

Now inside daw, load Nexus 2, now load the preset that works inside Nexus 2, now by the name at the bottom of the browser, you'll see for example : AR After Midnight 2, right click, and save Preset.

This will save it in the proper format, for N3 to now read it.. now load up N3, this preset will now work.. viola :tu:

P.S. - Once you have your ALL presets working in N3, I suggest you reinstall Nexus 3 properly, as far as Nexus 2, the .dll must be renamed something different, or they will conflict, at least under windows.

or you just download the new factory content file...

I tried that numerous times last night, and it refused to work on my system, either way, all is working now. Good luck , this release is a beast.

Is there any of these new packs, that would contain theremin patches? Or rather dark horror type instruments?

Thanks! I will try that. Does seem strange to have to do though. I figured they would just work. Will take me more than a few hours to do as well as I have hundreds or more extra presets that don’t work.

Yep, before doing crazy stuff to fix problems, may as well just wait until they fix it. Maybe you break there new fix with well meaning fixes.

Thanks Steve.. I've never checked it out in all these years lol - yep, a couple inside it, thnx

TTU,sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do to make progress, waiting on a fix doesn't always work.. This ones simple enough to do if you need to get your patches working again. And I mentioned to reinstall properly after the fact of attempting this. Cheers

Whoa thanks.

I don't thiiiink I need to do this though - a general ask, has anyone had any issues loading old Nexus 2 sessions correctly with tweaked (but not saved) presets?

Just verified this does work

The difference is that the new saved version is ~39kb fxp file instead of a 9 kb file.

Wish there was a batch tool...

I have to admit. That hurts ...

It would good to get some real world figures before and after on specific patches in Nexus for CPU. A screenshot of a random SQ doesn't mean all that much.

I'll confess I was surprised to hear in the Manuel / Mike video that there is now on board synthesis, not least because I've always understood a large part of the reason for the low CPU overhead in Nexus is that it's sample-playback only. So it could now be that some new complex SQs that have 16 layers some with synthesis are pretty thirsty.
