I totally agree.MrBauer wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 2:26 pmThey don't have to in that way. Most other devs survive with simple keyfiles or serials. Even the new Nexus3 uses some own (from what I heard hassle free) licensing system and I wondered why Avenger doesn't use it too when both companies share the same guys and already shared code. People in here have spread awareness of major problems with codemeter as instable, intrusive and in conflict with other copy protection products but got ignored or belittled.thejonsolo wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 1:58 pmIt is sad that products like Codemeter have to exist, just to save the income of developers.
To save income, just bind customers. But seeing the same problems with nearly every release/update (missing clear communication, no responses from support, non working updates, audible differences in older projects, obiously no beta testing, answers like "buy new hardware", getting surprised by webtraffic) or the abandon of older products makes me feel I'm not in good hands as a customer and they weren't able to learn from it too![]()
When it's harder to use the product for the paying customer than the one who use a cracked version, you know there is problem. I made the effort to pay for Avenger a while ago and this update is a pain in the ass. I spent my morning fixing the update and now, some of the sounds I used are now in their factory setting, meaning that my work doesn't sound the same (+ the volume/filter issue)

I agree the copy protection now used is a pain, five minutes of uploading and downloading criptic files and keys just to use a new sound pack I bought....I wish it didn’t have to be this way, but the thieves make it necessary to do something....but this solution is the worst I have come across and I have ilok an elicence!

I don't get what you guys have problems with that codemeter. I installed 1.5.0 , activated it in the account and the synthstrument XT without trouble. Before i renamend the old version to Avenger1.4.10.dll and now i can use both. You should maybe think about, if you're trained enough for using computers.

VPS servers are... "meh". I have fast 1 Gigabit download internet. I've always had a slow time downloading the Factory content - it usually takes on average an hour, while the installer for Avenger itself takes 10 minuts or so - for a 62.5 MB file.
But the Factory content file today? It's expected to take 1 day to 27 hours!!!
This is unacceptable, man. VPS needs to step up their server game - their ISP - something. I'm in the US, which I'm willing to wager is a large chunk of VPS's customer base.

Also can't confirm that. i've downloaded the content this moment with full speed. Maybe you have a bad ping and reboot your internets connection or try www.speedtest.net if you have really 1Gbit actually.EnochLight wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 2:50 pm VPS servers are... "meh". Good for you if you didn't have trouble to install the 1.5.0.ReboundAudio wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 2:48 pm I don't get what you guys have problems with that codemeter. This is not my first update for a software/VST. I use DAWs for 20+ years and never encountered these kind of issues.

Now it says that the version is 1.5.1, but the download links are still pointing to nowhere.Khr128 wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 2:57 pm Download site still not working. 404s on Nginx if I try to download anything. I hope it is because of the current traffic. Oh well, and this shall pass too...
Can anybody confirm that this is a problem?
I am just talking to myself like my own radio. Nina Hagen anyone?

Here’s hoping that, when Avenger 2.0 comes out one day, it’ll ditch Codemeter like Nexus 3 just ditched Elicenser. I don’t really understand why Avenger took a step backward on the very same day that Nexus took a step forward, given the relationship between the products. Why is Nexus’ new copy protection system not good enough for Avenger?
But until then, I don’t expect to update Avenger, given the risks of adding yet another root level copy protection my computer (especially since I know lots of people who, like me, are on Macs have encountered serious problems with Codemeter).

Discoverd why my Avenger content was loosing it's focus after a reboot. For some strange reason if i wait a few mins before i open my DAW and Avenger it hooks up no problem. I have all SSD drives fast boot disabled but it still boots in a few seconds. Strange one for sure but either way it's all working now.
Big thanks to Rene for a quick response to my questions.
