When you think about it, this is a situation where everyone have lost. All of this in the name of "protection", this is not fixing anything. One of the biggest feedbacks vengeance already had to consider is the amount of people (many of those that had avenger close to from the beginning) selling their licenses in the market place and expressing their discontent about all of this. This is not the right move at all.

I can tell avenger in these conditions is the last synth I would recommend to anyone never, this is a lost battle for everyone, because the loyal users are the most affected and now they have to ask permission continuously in order to use "their" product (this "" because is already lost).

Any license manager/copy protection demanding permissions and controlling/holding the license/keys of the users is something that at this day and age shouldn't even have place, this is not right.
Like Hello!... users already have lost their products to be completely dependent of more "services", there is no product anymore.

I can't imagine a future where such system methods where the users are completely dependent of those "services" would be supported in the future in the long term, it would be a terrific future indeed... a future I will never support in my life.

I think that you and rene should have some conversation and treat your customers better, just saying.

That is very unfortunate. It's nice that I still have a working version on my machine but knowing that I will not be able to get this up and running on a new one in the future is a bummer.

Pirates are going to remain pirates but those who pay religiously are making our lives impossible with these protection systems.

I can really understand both sides here cauz no one wants his work cracked.

But those extra software/dongle and no way to stay with the old version 1.4.10 will force people to use the new 1.5.1 version or the cracked one.

If I would be pissed about I would say "I payd a product with the information "no dongle or extra software needed" which is the fact we all made a contract with vengeance." If we aren't able to activate 1.4.10 anymore and get forced to use extra software (which was not a part of the contract between vengeance and customer) then this is a breach of contract which can be punished by law by the way.

So if you guys are pissed I would suggest you to stay together and sue Vengeance for that breach of contract. These laws do not seem to exist in different countries but here in Germany it does and Germany is the jurisdiction of Vengeance.

I have read about german courts that have decided that every user must have full access to updates without touching the previous contract.

Yup, it makes Avenger pretty unattractive to use (and the next crack then extremely attractive, since it will be way better usable than the original). This honestly looks like a control freak show. With all respect.

It was communicated that people could stay on 1.4 if they wanted. The correct way to go here is that processes regarding downloading and authoring 1.4 stay active.

So i have updated to 1.5.1. Few weeks ago I have recreated same U-he Diva Supersaw patch on Avenger 1.4.1 version and now i checked it on 1.5.1, i dont remember it sounding so distorted.

Even on 1.5.0 (despite not showing me factory presets) did not sounded saturated, neither on Beta.

Then i checked the factory content patches on 1.5.1...

I dont understand, do my ears lie or what? but every preset sounds a little bit distorted, not much, like there is some small saturation applied to the output.

Here is another fact! It's very bad business moves to start upsetting a big chunk of their customer base. It will hurt their business and that it not good for them or for other paying customers and fan boys like yourself. Just like you, I like Avenger and I want it to have a good future in this highly competitive market. Regardless of copy protection they should make sure that it is user friendly. There is no contradiction between user friendly and safe copy protection.

To those who still can't download anything. I was able to download all the files using my own server in Germany (i wasn't able to do so using my home internet connection due to connection timeouts). So if you have a VPN or your even your own servers - you could try it. My download speed was around 300 mbits/sec, so i believe it is some weird protection system.

This is not my politics but it's their politics. So as said before... You only get the Eat or FK off option here. Now it's your choise.

I choosed Codemeter because i owned it before cauz of a Reason 10 licence. But i have also saved an old version of 1.4.10. If my computer will ever crash i have bad luck and can't activate 1.4.10 anymore . But i am sure, that i have already arranget myself with the Codemeter version.

Interesting. I have Reason 10 as well but I didn't have Codemeter. Workes fine anyway here. I understand that the Avenger team probably doesn't give a f**ck what I think or say and it's a pity because even though you and me come from different angles here we want the same thing. We want Avenger to be popular and healthy so development will continue for a long time to come.

I did install codemeter and went thru (by trial and error) the new autorization. At one point I almost gave up and thought I would have to contact the support to fix it but stubborn as I am I kept on trying different ways until it worked. I only wish it was more user friendly.

More and more people choose the latter. Potential customers are made aware of all the (codemeter) problems and the attitude of the company and stay away.
Vengeance will eventually give a fk about it.
