So you always have to login when starting Reason 10 ? That was very annoying to me and could be turned off by installing the Codemeter Software Manager.ATN69 wrote: Sun Dec 01, 2019 1:41 pm Interesting. I have Reason 10 as well but I didn't have Codemeter.

What really stinks is how Codemeter is being imposed on us after we already paid, so there's no effective way for us to opt-out.
If Avenger had always used Codemeter from the start, then I (and many others) simply wouldn't have purchased, and that would be that. But VPS took our money, and then sprang on us the addition of Codemeter - a decision that they surely knew would be unpopular among at least some of their current users. I can complain all I want, but Vengeance still has my money, and that rankles.
So let's put specific dollars on this. I purchased Avenger for $165 USD on sale. I bought the 5-expansion-pack deal on sale for $140. That's $305 I have invested in Avenger (and others, I'm sure, have spent much more). Then Vengeance went and added a parasitic copy protection scheme that, to say the least, is controversial. Notably, this is not a case where technology has advanced and older computers are being left behind. Nor is this a change necessitated by new features. Rather, VPS has added something solely for the company's own "benefit" that they knew would upset users, after we've already spent our money.
Yes, I can keep using my current Avenger. But only until I need to switch computers or reformat my drive, and then I guess I've lost my money. All because VPS went and unilaterally changed the terms on which they sold Avenger to me (i.e., the old copy protection scheme, which was perfectly fine and non-intrusive).
I would absolutely give up my license if VPS would give me my money back. But we all know that's not going to happen.
Equally certain is that I will never buy from VPS again. I recognize the futility of the gesture; I'm a grain of sand on the beach of VPS users. Still, it's absolutely infuriating.

Can anyone comment on this? The container is still in CodeMeter as activated despite the Vengeance website saying otherwise. I don't really want to reactivate a license from the page and have two Avenger-related containers constantly running on my PC.BeeDog wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 9:44 am Alright, I followed Manuel's instructions about using the "Re-Host License" option then deactivating. On the Vengeance CodeMeter site it looks good, i.e. the license has been put back on the cloud. But in the CodeMeter app, I still have the "Vengeance Sound" CmContainer and it still says "License activated". What gives? Is there a delay due to overloaded servers or...?

Vengeance met their obligation by allowing users to download 1.4 previously. Once 1.5 is out, they are not obligated to permanently post 1.4 for download. Also there is a lot of fear mongering here. You get 3 licenses per product, so the doomsday scenario of losing your license forever is not realistic. Plus there is customer service.

Guys it is weekend & the holiday season, just let the devs do their job, Manuel & Rene promised to make the activation & VMan procedure much easier. Just give them a break...
I'm sure within those 3 months the CP system will be much improved.

Codemaster requires my machine to be OS X 10.11 in order to use. I have a OS X 10.9 system. The specs required to run Avenger state 10.9. That is on the website, right now. I have purchased a number of expansion packs based on the fact that Avenger works on my computer. Which it does, or would, if I qualified to use the "Security" software now standing between me and the several hundred dollars I've spent. Please fix. Feeling very duped. Love Avenger, but this is terrible.

To be clear: my personal issue isn't that I could lose my activation if my hard drive crashes (although I understand and respect others' concerns in that regard), but that I don't want to install Codemeter at all on my computer, due to the issues that at least some have had. Perhaps I'm being irrational, but I shouldn't be forced to make that choice because the developers instituted Codemeter protection after I had made my purchase.rlared wrote: Vengeance met their obligation by allowing users to download 1.4 previously. In that regard, I disagree that the previous availability of 1.4 makes it OK to remove that legacy version from availability once 1.5 is out. If Vengeance is going to insist on a major change in its copy protection platform, it should at least continue to make previous versions available to people who don't want to make the switch.
No one asked Vengeance to release a buggy and problematic new copy protection scheme on a Friday, right before the weekend, during the holiday season. Perhaps they should have waited until a Monday (or a time when the activation scheme actually worked) before doing so.phreaque wrote: Guys it is weekend & the holiday season, just let the devs do their job, Manuel & Rene promised to make the activation & VMan procedure much easier. Yes, I am logging in every time I start Reason but it's just one click since the password is stored and pre-filled. I also have Cubase and it's the same thing.ReboundAudio wrote: Sun Dec 01, 2019 1:54 pmSo you always have to login when starting Reason 10 ? I'm guessing from their standpoint, the change was due to the older version being cracked so they don't want to circulate it in the future. But I also agree that the change has been poorly managed by them so far. Some better preparation and communication would have pissed a lot less people off.SirkusPi wrote: Sun Dec 01, 2019 3:04 pmTo be clear: my personal issue isn't that I could lose my activation if my hard drive crashes (although I understand and respect others' concerns in that regard), but that I don't want to install Codemeter at all on my computer, due to the issues that at least some have had. Personally I still love Avenger and see this as a temporary inconvenience that I will forget in a few weeks. But I understand that a lot of people are really upset.
I also think that Vengeance is on shaky legal ground to be honest. Hopefully they figure out a solution that works for everyone.

Impossible, had you noticed the endless questions from members about when the 1.5 update?SirkusPi wrote: Sun Dec 01, 2019 3:04 pm No one asked Vengeance to release a buggy and problematic new copy protection scheme on a Friday, right before the weekend, during the holiday season. No need to mention the countless similar questions on the FB page.

They could've told everyone that they were not ready, extended the sale period and fixed everything in the meantime.

Well, it took almost 24 hours - but I was finally able to download the new Factory content.
Authorized via Codemeter, installed all new Expansions, everything is running as expected in 1.5.1 for me.
