in relation to say London vs. Manchester

if London is London and Manchester is northern

just curious given a film the missus rented over the weekend.
in the same weekend i had an easier time understanding the speech of a film shot in Scottish locations, but obviously more effort/concession was made for more universal english speakers, while this midlands film, they were more or less speaking amongst themselves.

Lovely part of the world, esspecially the East Midlands, me ducks

I like milton keynes and telford myself

:hihi:

Personally my favourite areas of the UK are cornwall/devon/south west because the countryside is stunning, and Brighton becuase it has as much to do as any other city in the UK but in a small and convenient area :)

Plus living by the sea is just amazing. I rarely go to the beach, but just knowing i can if i want to actually makes me happy :D

my company used to own an affiliate in Skipton. folk who travelled over ther were most impressed by the countryside. sheep right out the office window -- as if that's any reason to be impressed

that film with Helen Miren and the calendar girls actually featured at least the signposts for Skipton. maybe it was actually shot in the vicinity.

given the view from that film seemed even stranger that a handful of software developers would take jobs in a 'remote' village. but what do I know from an ocean away? as our parent company laid them all off they mostly found jobs in Manchester or back in London.

Erm...
Peterborough used to be in the midlands until boundary changes in 1976, when the city changed from being part of Northamptonshire and became part of Cambridgeshire, which is an East Anglian county.

Staffordshire is nice, but the West Midlands is a f**king dive. I live pretty much smack bang between the two, and i rarely venture further sound than Walsall. Then again, it gets nice again the other side of Birmingham so i cant help feeling we got shafted!

Post

I live in the midlands...if that helps...no it dosen't really does it :D

I live about half hour from Birmingham.

EDIT: West Midlnds that is
