Well, it always had that "hidden band" under the gain knob. Let's see what it's like once its got some visualisation. Should make it easier to use and should make feature requests easier to discuss.sinkmusic wrote: Fri Dec 06, 2019 12:26 pm By the way... Did you consider adding one more band to Q ?

Slight phase shifts, that's all I see (but I don't think I can hear them).Ploki wrote: Fri Dec 06, 2019 2:13 pm cool!
However, why does Q do something to sound when all bands are set to off and clipping is disabled?
I wanted to match it to Pro-Q3 to see if it can do something easily that pro-q3 can't - but can't match them because Q does something when all bands are off and master gain is set to "output"

Why tho, if everything is set to off? where do they come from?Urs wrote: Fri Dec 06, 2019 2:32 pm

Yeah i can't hear them either, but i can't do a null-match if it doesn't null when effectively bypassed

The signal still runs through filters. Even if they don't emphasise or attenuate frequency gains, they can still affect phase response - like allpass filters.Ploki wrote: Sat Dec 07, 2019 2:32 pmWhy tho, if everything is set to off? where do they come from?Urs wrote: Fri Dec 06, 2019 2:32 pm

Q is also oversampled to avoid weird frequency responses near 20kHz. That alone does a phase shift above 10kHz.
Lastly, as has often pointed out, all Uhbiks need to have their latency reevaluated. One has to add about 3-6 samples on top of the 16 samples we report.

oh i have missed that. certainly, adding 3 samples to the channel opposite of uhbik-Q cancelled it out almost completely up to 4Khz (above is most likely oversampling)Urs wrote: Sat Dec 07, 2019 2:57 pm

anyway, neat. Bottom seems to do something FabFilter doesnt. Tried matching it, and got close, but something always happens below around f/2. If i boost FabFilter to 24dB, it increases everything and i can't match between F and F/2 anymore, and if i keep it at 14dB the mids cancel out, but everything below f/2 gets an oomph.
Looks almost like two band shelves stacked, but one is at f/2 and +10dB.. Neat effect tho, it really does "bottom". So, its now my go-to EQ for fat shit.
edit:
this is the closest i could get and it looks weird, and it didn't match up perfectly anyway ( i couldn't cancel it out)

So, two 18dB/8ve low shelves stacked F, and approx F/2 for the low low end.
Seems it really gives an extra kick to subs while not muddying up lows and low mids by design.. and i really like that.

Ah, yeah, all shelving filters are 24dB/oct. Bells are 12dB/oct (half of 24 because it's got slopes on either side). IIRC

How's it going? Any update?
The BF deal was a no brainer. Thank you!
The modulation sources/possibilities put this package on a whole new level.
Uhbik-C is fanatastic!
All of your newer UI's are nearly perfect and easy to work with.
The only problem for me with the Uhbiks - I often hit the bypass button instead of the 'main view' button, because they look a bit similar and the bypass button is bigger than the 'main view' button.
And although I am completely satisfied with my Uhbik I wanted to ask, if there are any news about:
Uhbik-X,
Sidechain Input à la Twangström,
Visualisation of the ModMatrix slots in the scope (...also for Hive2?)
How likely is the realisation?
So, thank you for another great upgrade!

We're feverishly working on a new alpha. None of the features you ask is in there, but they're all very likely for a beta version, hopefully happening in January.Joe Leidigkeit wrote: Mon Dec 09, 2019 4:25 pm How's it going? Any update?

Oh, I can wait.
Would be too sweet, if you'll get these massive features done.
Good luck and thanks for the info!
