Some details here about offline activation, never tried it.
Bottom of the page.
It's a 'hack' not an 'option', but I do appreciate the effort and if I actually could get the plugin to download without getting a useless "Download Error" message tells me nothing after it downloaded 150+ mb, then I could have test the hack....but yeah, not happening.

Edit: Offline authorization NOT exits and is NOT possible.

Another cpu hog

Post

Just read that there will be an update coming tomorrow.

Thus far i'm only slightly impressed. The saturation and high-frequency compressor are nice. The stereo widener is pretty good. The compressor itself not very good compared to paid Aquas. The eq is limited but sounding pretty good. CPU useage is normal.

Btw : For those wanting to try, check out their free Coral Baxter.

I had a play with it last night. In Cubase it adds 121ms of latency, so given, I was in my scratchpad project playing guitar at the time, made it unusable. For mixing, I'm sure it is fine.

Yeah I never use Acustica plugins while tracking or early mixing due to this - I see them as final mixing and mastering plugins only

It's surprising to see such contrasting opinions between Gearslutz and KVRAudio users about this plugin.

They sampled the unit, changed names and added their own vision. But the original material comes from the Fusion.

Yeah... that's a challenge with AA products. They use leading-edge technology to do their analogue emulations.
this leading-edge technology is called dynamic convolution and has been around for 20 years.
AA's own version of it is >10 years old. So leading edge is not exactly. Slow and memory hog
absolutely it is.

it is copying the design and aesthetics and is also based on sampling the SSL fusion,
while adding some stuff that I assume is designed to keep a lawsuit away - but
has questionable added value relative to the original unit.

If I were AA I would not worry about legal action however because this is one of the worst
sounding acquas I have encountered in a very long time. I just cannot see
how it can possibly threaten the sales of the hardware unit.

I put this on an already mastered track, just turning it on results in a level increase and immediate compression to the source signal. Internally the signal path is running pretty hot and not gain staged properly. I dunno if it’s quite ready yet for prime yet. I preferred the track without Celestial to be honest.

Interesting. When AA said it’s based on their own unique vision, I assumed it was one of their heavily modded Frankenstein units that they sampled. They should just be honest and tell customers what hardware they sampled.

often times it does sound good, no question. However the tech is not as often usable as evidenced
by countless user postings to that effect over the years. If it works for you, awesome.

As far as I know AA plugin needs to be gainstaged at -18dB, so maybe you where running it way to hot, as the track was already mastered?
