Some ST2XL Module Operations questions

Hi,

After having a few days being amazed by the presets, I have just spent some time getting to understand some of the ST2XL features. I noticed the following (using FL Studio). I found so many things that didnt appear to work as they should I feel I must be doing something wrong.

1. If I try to load a module when the instruments dont exist it crashes FL Studio

2. If I Save a module .ikmp and then load it again then none of the effects associated with the presets gets loaded

3. If I do a "Save As" then the old name still appears on the readout

4. If I do a backup then my user presets .STIP files do not appear in the backup directory

Can anybody help ?

I may be off base here but from the way you phrased your question I am taking it that you have changed the presets from the sounds original presets and then when reloading the module they are not as you left them. Anytime you change a presets effects you have to save it as a new child preset or the effect changes will be lost. So...if I am reading your problem correctly...you would first save all the individual presets with the effect changes as individual child presets and then save the module. Hope this help,

What is a child preset?

My inference has been that a child preset is what is stored when you save the synth parameter and effects edits you do of an instrument. On the other hand, while using LE, my effects and filter edits have gotten saved when I saved my combi setups. Time for more manual reading with XL coming any time now. This is a deepass synth!

I have just checked and can confirm the second point I raised

First I create a user (Child) preset. No problem there when I reload it from the browser everything comes back perfect.

If I save my FL Studio project and reloaded then again everything comes back perfect

If I want to save the whole module content (say to use in another project) then the child preset gets reloaded, but none of its effects

Seems like a genuine bug this. I think i'll report to the IK Mulitimedia

any other thoughts more than welcome

Just loaded ver 2.0.8 It appears to have sorted out my 1,2 and 3rd problem , but it still dosent save user presets when you do a backup.
