Since 1.5 has anyone had an issue where all notes are an octave lower than they are played (example: you play c3 but Avenger recognizes it as C2)? Easy enough to fix with the global transpose but wondering if that was normal.

A container should not expire afaik. But looking at my license I just noticed that the Avenger license has an expiry date listed in the codemeter container. 3 months after activation. It is the only Wibu license I have that has an expiry date. Anybody knows why that is and what happens if we reach that expiry date? Sorry if I missed that in the discussion but I honestly didn't keep track about what is happening with Avenger. It became a bit of a write-off synth for me.

They're probably using time-limited demo licenses. When the license expires, a new time-limited license is generated. Probably is cheaper, I don't know.

I think 10 pages back there are some posts about this. The licence has to be renewed every 90 days

Thanks, found that. So, they rolled out the Codemeter license switch before they completed the implementation of the license renewal procedure. Lovely. :dog:

I generally do not mind licensing systems. I understand why a developer wants to go that route and I actually do like iLok and am even willing to deal with Codemeter. But I did buy a permanent license and not a life time subscription. There is a very important difference between a system that calls home ever so often and a system that only works with time limited Codemeter licenses.

There is a moment where the understandable interest of a developer to protect their IP turns into the harassment of their legitimate customers.

Well, there are enough other synths on the market.

I see your point.
The 90 days renewal is for safety (I think) even if I don't understand it. Anyway I am waiting for a dongle that I purchased and I hope I don't have to renew every 90 days the licence on it. I really hope that it works out with the Dongle or else I waisted 65 euros.

I have it on a MAAT dongle and yes, you still need to renew it every 90 days.

I was curious about this synth, but it appears to be another nightmare ;( moving right along ;)

I don't think it is a nightmare. I think it is a hassle. And once we get through a few doors, I think it will be fine. Switching protection schemes is not easy on any level...whether it is a piece of software or a 24 story building. I do not mind CM. I just wish this process were as easy as Propellerheads Reason.

Thank you for confirming that the MAAT Dongle works, i was worry about it.
I don't really care that i have to renew the licence but it would be nice to avoid it.
So what left is to receive the Dongle.
Thank you!!!

It's not that big deal. It sounds so nice that for my taste i don't care about some weak points. The real point for me is to make better music with good tools. Avenger is good tool for me. You get inspiration and your workflow can be fast with all these Sequences and nice sounds.

And also, remember, it's the few that actually have problems that are writing here. Percentage wise, I think the amount of people having trouble is very low.

Avenger rocks and the Codemeter protection issue is insanely overblown just like most things on KVR are.

I don't see what's the point of a dongle then. But that doesn't seem to be the overall case, right? Only with this Vengeance product.

You are not forced to use a Dongle. In my case because i use more then 3 computers i need the Dongle so i can move the licence. One more reason is because my workstations are accessible for more people i will keep my production stuff as secure as possible.
The renewal think is a small problem for me.
