From their website:
"You can edit your sounds layer-by-layer, or edit multiple layers simultaneously. Separate synthesizer layers can be saved and loaded, allowing you to simply grab a layer you like from a patch and load it into another patch."

Did Rayblaster have one also? I can't use mine, because I was a moron and only backed up the 32bit version, and the 64bit version of Rayblaster 1 is not available on the sight. To date, it's one of my biggest "software backup" debacles of all time. :hihi:
There's a white skin (and two others) with this expansion:

I don't know if it works with v2 though. (?)

Damn man, I forgot about that. Yeah, that gives it a whole new look. Thanks for the direct.

This is dope. I didn't know that myself. Does it load the full patch, even if it has many layers?
I was just trying round with it and am puzzled too. Would be really great if Marcus could give us some clarification on this. Apart from WHAT it does exactly this is absolutely amazing (and one of the things I really would wish in any possible way for Ikarus 2).

You can edit multiple layers simuntaniously with copy->"Multilayer edit"

File->"Save synth layer to patch" saves a single layer to a fxp file

File->"Load patch to synth layer" loads a fxp file to a synth layer

Merging several multitimbral /multilayer patches is also possible. However you need to save and load the layers separately. If there is demand i can extend the feature so you can do this automatically.
"Multi-layer architecture" means that you have access to four synthesizers at the same time and all within one interface.
Each of the four layers is as an independent, full-featured synthesizer consisting of up to 108 oscillators, dual multi-mode filters, a flexible modulation system, an effects section and its own arpeggiator. Together with this and the 15 different types of synthesis available, it's guaranteed that your sound design possibilities are virtually endless.
You can edit your sounds layer-by-layer, or edit multiple layers simultaneously. Separate synthesizer layers can be saved and loaded, allowing you to simply grab a layer you like from a patch and load it into another patch.
You can combine different layers, mix different types of synthesis, use keyboard splits and use different play modes like Poly, Mono, Legato or Glide per synth layer. Most of the patches that come with Electra2 already use multiple layers so mixing and merging your favorite patches into a new multi-layer sound is extremely simple."

Do we gonna see granular oscs? Curved lfos for ultra complexity?Too much features at the moment too not that its bad

Post

Granular OSCs: possible
Curved lfos: If you mean MSEGs - most likely not, since there is not enought space in the GUI

Feature request: Ability to nest folders in the Browser.

Feature request since many years back: MORE MODULATION SLOTS IN THE MATRIX... pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssseee! :D

Please please please please! I'm constantly running out of those.

I've requested more mod matrix slots for years now. I think they should be doubled. Yes, I too am constantly running out of slots. There is space on the GUI to double them. Why not?
:dog:

Especially if you assign stuff to modwheel, aftertouch and pitch wheel. You run very quickly out of modulation slots for even simple things.

Velocity -> Envelope -> Filter Cutoff (2 slots used) Modwheel -> Velocity (3), Aftertouch to Envelope Decay (4) etc.

It's so quick to run out of these.

Hi Markus:

A misspelled word in the interface and in the online manual is written Unsion instead of Unison (images below), greetings!

Hello Chipi,

there is indeed a typo. You can ignore it. It has no influence on the functionality or sound of the plugin.
It will be fixed in the next update.

Best Regards,
Markus

Yes, I know, I just wanted to warn you of the mistake, since I don't think you knew about it until today. Electra sounds better than ever! A monumental synthesizer! Greetings!

That would be great Markus, I bought Electra 2 and fell in love with it! I never imagined the incredible analog tinged sounds I could get out of it and it has blown me away. I currently have Falcon and the UVI library [too much Rompler] and Zebra 2 and let me tell you that I have created analog basses in Electra 2 that I couldn't with Zebra, as it always has that 'too digital' touch.

Falcon is great but too complicated to program, but the base sound sounds a bit 'cold' and metallic to my ears. On the other hand Electra 2 has something in the oscillators that doesn't make them perfectly digital and that adds realism to the analog sounds which are beastly ! Simply beastly!

One thing I would like to request as a 'feature request' in Electra, would be the possibility to be in a preset and navigate in a small window to other presets and listen to them, so I can choose the 'Layer' to copy without having to leave the current sound I'm programming. Thanks for this great synth Markus! :tu:
