Sorry, this may be a dumb question, but how would I send MIDI notes from a MIDI Track in Ableton?

I have an audio interface plugged into my computer, with the MIDI Out Port going into the MIDI In Port on my Behringer Deepmind 12. Now I'm just wondering as to how I would send MIDI Messages into it.

I also have the USB MIDI Cable plugged from the Behringer Deepmind 12 into a USB Port on my computer as well, so I can send MIDI Messages from it into my DAW (Ableton Live).

Thanks!

Load an external instrument in Live. Assign midi out to the channel you want the Deep Mind to receive midi on. Done. (iirc you can set the patch number in Live too) :) https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... with-MIDI-

If you want Live to receive MIDI from the DM you need to go to Midi Preferences, add it as a control surface and set Live to receive midi from it. https://sonicbloom.net/en/ableton-live- ... ontroller/

Ah, sorry I forgot to mention, I have the Lite Version of Ableton Live, so I don't have the External Instrument.

Also I tried following the tutorial and it didn't work.

You can send midi out from a midi track by selecting a channel to send on without External Instrument, but you need to set midi preferences correctly.

Live 10 Standard price is 1/3 of Deep Mind 12 alone, go check where you put your money

Well, it seems I've screwed something up, because now, I don't hear the Behringer Deepmind 12 in Ableton anymore.

Ok, Nevermind, I think I'm just dumb. I think I just turned down the volume at some point and forgot to turn it up again. I can hear audio now.
