D-Fusion wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2019 6:20 pm I have the full gadget collection + Oddysey, M1, Wavestation and Mde-X.
And actually with the Gadget i get doubles since it contains the Oddysey, M1 and Wavestation.
Oddysey is called Lexington and has max 8 voices compared to the 16 on the Oddysey but it is still the same synth with a different layout.

M1 is called Darwin to remind me that i bought the same thing twice

Wavestation is called Milpitas.

And yet the M1LE Owners get it cheaper + more plugins instead of having to buy it all for the third time to get the new one.

Should have been a discount for us who are interested in adding the Triton to the collection without having to rebuy everything again.

And what if i buy it today and it gets added to the gadget a few months later?
Yep, I have the Legacy Collection with everything and also the Gadget collection too....seems way too much for people like us to just add the Triton if that's all we need. Would be nice to get the Triton, but I will apply my GAS brakes here.
Same here.
I do really want it but without a better discount i can wait a bit longer while exploring the demo version.
I don't find the price horrible since you get lots of sounds for the money + nostalgia factor.

If i could get it for the M1Le owner price i would jump on it instantly.
How much? I have the M1le somewhere ...

It seems @D-Fusion misunderstood a bit.
Price for M1 LE owners is 199.

Boooo

JohnPativens wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2019 6:52 pmYes. Also, buying the Triton VST alone costs 199$ on sale (249 after sale period).
Too much yet.
Not too much considering how much it would take you to get the hardware with all the EXB boards...

You can't even get all 9 EXBs for $249.
One could compare the price of the other Legacy Collection modules as well to their hardware counterparts, though they were priced very cheap instead.

 You are correct i was mixing it up with the special upgrade $149 price on the other offer.

So for $149 it would have been a instabuy from me :tu:

I am pretty sure I got the Complete Legacy Collection for 149.00 on sale, and maybe the Gadget collection for 149 too, on sale so I am 300 in.

Not completely sure on the prices though, without digging through my receipts, but either way I can't sink another 149 into just one, especially after the GAS wallet carnage that was Black Friday for me this year......it was ugly, but yet, so, so great, lol...

VitaminD wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2019 4:20 pmI see one can buy the individual larger instruments, but only see a bundle for the gadgets for Windows. Can one purchase the gadget VSTs individually somewhere?
Yes. iOS. There's an intial bunch included with iOS Gadget, but you buy the rest individually. Once you've bought them all the price is the same as the full desktop PC/Mac version. If they follow this pattern with an iOS Triton, it'd mean a cheaper Triton with "Factory" Presets up front, but which will end up costing the same as the desktop Mac/PC version once all EXB's are added. As for why they don't do it on Windows, the main reason would be no equivalent of an Apple App store to easily enable it.
BlackWinny wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2019 6:15 pmI'll boycott Triton as long as they don't update the GUI of their other KLC products*.
Ok. But consider there's a reasonable amount of work involved in updating all of those old GUI's. So don't be too surprised if V2 of the Special Bundle will be required if you're going to see those GUI updates. If they do it that way it means you ultimately denied yourself, and missed out on a very nice new instrument, for nothing.. ;)
D-Fusion wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2019 6:20 pmM1 is called Darwin to remind me that i bought the same thing twice
Not even close. Darwin is heavily crippled, and not even a good option as a preset surfing plugin. The Wavestation (Milpitas) strikes a much better balance, and is "acceptable" if all you do is tweak presets etc.
gentleclockdivider wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2019 7:12 pmIs the Triton vst just like the hardware 16 part multitimbral ?
It's 8 part (to support combis.) No sequencer or sampler, but otherwise the main engine.

Well,, frankly - personally me would be unsure even in this case. The famous\big sound collection and nostalgia this is certain good, but need to see what can offer this thing about more complex moments, because frankly i never used real Triton nor dig into his manual (nor tried demo yet) but judging by videos\screensots i did not see yet some in-depth deliciouses like tons of settings \ some advanced waveforms editings etc. There is a choice of sections - yes, but everything that I saw there seems like some basic settings / envelopes (i mean, fairly lightweight filling of modules per each section). So, if it all just about pcm collection\playback (so to speak, M1 at steroids) then even 145 it's a bit inadequate offer. For 70-80 - can be think.

EDIT Although, of course, must say, the very fact that Korg did this, is very good and encouraging (i always liked classic klc stuff, but sometimes I’m afraid that the trends have changed and all the fun have gone along the simplified path after gadgets).

IIRC KLC individual plugins weren't always $49...

I have been messing with the Triton. I was trying to use it as I was used to hardware (and as the other virtual instruments also work) which means I should be able to use Bank and Program Change messages to call sounds.

Apparently, this isn't working. I can't find a way to get Triton to recognice CC 00 and/or CC 32 to change banks. No matter what I do, any Program Change recalls a sound from the first Bank. I downloaded the manual, and Triton Extreme was able to recognize Bank messages. Anyone knows what is the method to recall sounds via MIDI messages in this thing?

Actually, No it seems.
VitaminD wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2019 4:20 pm ...for Windows.
Since I was specifically referring to Windows and not Apple.

I was just looking to getting 2 or 3 from the gadgets collection. I won't buy the cow to get a little milk, so to speak.

There are several Windows App stores. Microsoft offers one directly in Windows.

And theres also Steam that offers Audio apps. Cakewalk offered their products on there for a time.

So I don't think AppStore is the issue. Besides if they can offer individual full-sized apps along with the bundle on their own company website, they can offer the gadgets individually too.

Either way, they don't and thus I got my answer. :)

VitaminD wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2019 10:55 pm So I don't think AppStore is the issue.
Except it is. You're using the app store if you own an iOS device. It's also locked down and, essentially, piracy free. That's not the case with any equivalent on Windows. To get things to work as smoothly (auto-install etc, no user interaction beyond pushing the in-app button to buy) would require a lot of back end work, which may or may not be justified by the present market conditions on Windows.

Yes, so I tried this and apparently, from trial and error, I was able to determine that they do indeed work but the bank change assignments have been changed. Banks 0-3 are recalled using controller 0 = 0 and controller 32 = 0-3. The recall only happens after a program change, following standard MIDI protocols. This works in combi and program modes. It also looks the the extra content can be recalled starting at bank (ctrl 32) = 8.

The original KLC cost me $100 (MS 20, Poly, M1, Wavestation)

So $149 for, what for me would be the Odyssey and Triton, is a little steep.

Yeah, It’s a no go for me.
