I guess the Poly-D selling a billion pre-orders wasn't a big enough clue that more people want self-contained instruments than desktop modules. And if you're gonna do a desktop module, at least let it act as a controller too, but noooooo, can't do that!!!

[I'm exaggerating my annoyance level, but I'm not a fan of desktop modules and all indications are that keyboard units sell much better even while costing more. Also, I get that doing all-analog recreations limits what they can do with controllers without having to engineer some kind of solution to allow for MIDI CC's to be sent. Just saying, all the more reason for a keyboard instrument.]

Consider they are making these to also appeal to Eurorack market, it makes a lot of sense to do it this way. It doesn't have to be a desktop module at all. It can be a part of your Eurocrack trip. :D

Compared to Israel and the US, China is a pretty decent country. They don't attack other countries, they don't steal other people's land etc. HK is within their own country, i.e. nobody else's business.
And they are one of the few countries that are actually reducing their emissions.
They were even the first victim of industrial espionage, the Brits and others stole IP from China hundreds of years ago.

Is there a Guitar Center in Berlin?
No, but they have some other music shops that are better than GC. I went to Berlin for a month last January. It was cool to see a poster in the shop for u-he stuff.

BTW, in case Urs reads this, or any other German natives. I was in the shop in Berlin and was with a girl who is an amazing vocalist. She uses really cheap microphones for her recording's, and still sounds incredible. I wanted to hear what she sounded like through some better microphones so asked the shop if they could unlock the microphone testing station (about 10 microphones to test), so we could test them. I was told in an irritated German accent, "Why do you need to test the microphone's?" I was thinking to myself "why do you think, dummy?, what kind of question is that?" I mean, in the United States, no one has ever bothered to ask that question or seem suspicious of my intentions. I assume they don't want you to test the microphones unless you are seriously looking to buy one. I just said we wanted to hear what they sounded like. Without any other comment they unlocked the door to the room. In the USA I would have decided not to support that store anymore, because I wouldn't have wanted to give them my business. Probably just a different cultural approach to selling gear. Rubbed me the wrong way, because I'm not used to it. I did understand I was in another country and it's different, so it's all good, no bad feeling's, but just was curious if that was normal?

Germans don't suck up to customers the way Americans do.
Same thing in restaurants etc.

^^^^ Truth.

Not German native, but one Italian waiter in a certain Berlin pizzeria told me off for asking extra tomato sauce (not ketchup!) to put on the pizza I ordered. I like extra tomato sauce on my pizza. He said "you don't need that on this pizza, why do you want to add extra tomato sauce? No!".

Apparently customer is not always right in Berlin. But I won't be going to that pizzeria anymore. :D

They probably considered it an implied complaint, i.e. that their pizza had too little tomato on it :hihi:

maybe they where running low.

They weren't running low, I saw other pizzas they all had tomato sauce. I just like to have MOAR of it on my particular pizza. :D

Yeah what e-crooner says might be the case. Implied complaint. I should probably choose my words better next time (in another pizzeria). :D

you need to try "your sauce is lovely, may i have extra" :)

hope that helps.

'The customer is always right' is the way it should be. If someone I'm buying from treats me like sh*t, I won't buy from them again and I'll spread the word as much as I can to make sure they end up with a lot less customers in the future.

The whole seconds/refill approach is also uncommon in Germany.

One of my friends has a cat called Roger, which I thought was a shit name until now.

I don't agree at all. Some customers simply suck and I applaud employees that call a spade a spade.

I think the CAT looks intriguing, but I’ll pass. I already have a Pro-1 arriving next week, and the recently arrived Pulsar-23 to further explore. Today I’ll be updating my Continuum to v9 with over 100 new presets to explore. And then the Osmose will be here before I know it! Gotta install and test the latest beta firmware in the Quantum. And I still have my eye on the Hydrasynth. Haven’t even tested the new granular features in Pigments yet. Whew! So no, I think I’ll sit this one out. :help:
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.
