well, for me, now that I know what it is, the Triton represents the time when hiphop started to sound really ***.
if it's ever on sale for $25 like the other korg vi's, I might get it just to make fun of these lame old tracks on livestream, could be amusing.

honestly - if this thing has any cool factor for you, you're past it.

Fair enough. Doesn't sound to me like you ever laid your hands on a Triton.

The Triton has also been used in visual novels and video game soundtracks (I'm pretty sure the patch "God's Bathtub" was used noticeably in CLANNAD). It's also definitely used frequently in Euro-based music like Eurodance and Eurobeat. All things that I personally enjoy.

Different strokes for different folks.

It represents a time hip hop moved away from samples and started using workstation presets to essentially create they're own samples.

Super interesting time when we're getting emulations of hardware that is young enough to read internet forums of users talking about it when it was released lol

I hope it will. There's heaps of great material for it.

Why each drum kit has a different midi mapping?

Because 400MB is only 1% of the RAM installed on my PC? I also often find that adding an extra instance doesn't double resource use, so I assume multiple instances use the same engine.

Sample ROM seems to be shared between instances, but GUI assets aren't. GUI alone makes about 100 MB of RAM of difference between plugin window opened vs closed.

And again, just because we have loads of RAM, it doesn't mean it's not a good idea to be frugal with its usage.

Sorry for offtop,

I've handled a few old korgs like the wavestation, but no, I've not been blessed by the triton experience, and boy do I feel like I've been missing out on this drab, bland, uninspired grey plastic piece of pure trash that's seemingly responsible for all those cheap sounding unimaginative annoying wack ass beats that polluted my short, precious late teenage years of partying.

a while ago, I said I imagined the next korg vst released would be the worst one possible, just to troll us, instead of anything interesting they have, looks like I couldn't have been more right, next time I'll keep it shut.

You're preachin' to the choir, sister! I can run all our songs on my 4th gen Core i5 powered Surface Pro 2 if I need to. On my big laptop, CPU use doesn't go near 50% and typical RAM usage for a song is less than 2GB.

You get a direct link from inside the plugin itself. There's a manual for both the plugin and Triton hardware.

I wonder why korg didn't release the m3 instead, being its newer. Or even a kronos with the extra engine's. I never owned a Triton, however I have owned the m50 and m3. I have been told the m1 software has the all the m3 sounds on the cards? Is this correct?
