So now to want customized ,better more personal sounds that the user actually wants to use in their productions, you gotta be a thief?

Seems like they consider sounds made with earlier Nexus versions as "repackaged"
And as some at reFX said: "We do not endorse or support these repackaged versions of our sounds"
This is really, REALLY hypocrite of them, seeing for example, sounds like "LD Nothing To Lose" or "SQ Dubstep Base 2" which obviously contains a very known wavetable ripped from NI Massive.

Ahh I see, and didn't they in fact, use some material in their TV movie and game expansion, which just recently was stripped out of nexus and then quickly replaced as well!?!
Hypocrisy at it's finest indeed.

After reading all the horrors of refx horrible support and issues with license transfers, I'm definitely not buying Nexus 3.

That's how I've always seen Nexus. That's always clearly been the deal to me. I just have a feeling a lot of anguish is being felt by those who have always wished this wasn't true.SciFiArtMan wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2020 3:03 am Look! We make sounds. You use sounds. End of discussion.
I sort of admire those who always have a need to push something beyond what its designed to do, but it tends to be a world of pain as a product develops and evolves. And its not like we're limited for options when it comes to full synths. Nexus has always been a preset machine with a walled garden. It does what it does really well, and nothing else. There it is.

Well stated. Nexus has always been promoted as a high quality rompler instrument with an emphasis on ease-of-use. I have never seen Manuel promote it as a 'do-it-yourself' sound development tool. In fact, I believe he has been quite clear about Nexus being an environment one buys into that relies heavily upon the release of expansion packs.noiseboyuk wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2020 9:26 amThat's how I've always seen Nexus. I can understand people's lack of enthusiasm to buy into such an environment. But wow! To bash the hell out of it (year after year) for being what it claims to be seems a bit absurd.
If sound design, and deep tweaking/editing of patches is one's priority, Omnisphere (which is also really great) might be more suited to that user.

Which is why, yes I am bringing it up again, not being able to import favourites from Nexus 2 ( so many others have done it omnisphere, all of u-he stuff, all of tone2 stuff etc etc etc) is such a shock.
And it not being a higher priority(according to my most recent ticket of a few days ago)

I must admit, I have not attempted to do so. But it does seem like quite an oversight to be unable to import something as simple as a list of favourites from one version to the next.zvenx wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2020 2:31 pmnot being able to import favourites from Nexus 2 ( so many others have done it omnisphere, all of u-he stuff, all of tone2 stuff etc etc etc) is such a shock.

For those looking to add layers under one Vsti roof, check out Skippy's new Workhorse about to be released on Monday! Plugin Guru Unify
This will eliminate the need for needing anymore dev's for adding nice things like layers to our beloved synths, this is going to be amazing.

I’m curious what this does differently that FL Studios Layer shell. This certainly looks like it has some options to play with. Wasn’t there something with nexus, that if you play multiple instances at the same time, the start times are off?

To answer your question, I'm not a Fl Studio user, but for one it'll work across daws, thats not something any specific daw plugin can do. eg: You can load this is any daw,mac ,pc..
Check it out, there's ton's of stuff this can do that most vsti hosts wont.. To me it's the answer for dev's who don't allow layering.
