This looks great! Will there be Envelopes, LFOs, MSEGS and random generators to control the realtime Knobs? That would be absolutely awesome!

That’s what I’m looking for, too. So far I think we’re stuck with external modifiers for the 8 MIDI Learn macro knobs, but they can be set to target pretty much anything using adjustable curves. I’m sure they’re working on internal modifiers and routings that will allow for MIDI FX, but that’s not ready yet.

Per Skippy, it should be out in early Jan...the "Pro" version that will include all his libraries, sample creation, and deep editing will be out in about a year.

Looking forward to this one, for sure... will be curious to see how this will stack up to my current (somewhat aggravating) workflow in Bidule.

This might be the next big thing, but if every video about it is at least 90 minutes, I'm afraid it'll have to pass me by. Plus, the guy rambles no end. I'd make time for a 5 minute "Here's what's unique and worth buying" video, but not these undisciplined epics.

To the earlier comment that one can always skip through videos to the parts that are interesting -- no, you can't. How do you know what's interesting or not? You have no idea what you're skipping. It's not like a document you can skim.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around all that Unify does and includes! Obviously it does a LOT as far as plugin stacking and layering, but are there also samples of synths included in Unify? If so, I assume there will be a sampling and list of such included sounds?

The stream(s) look and sound interesting, but I don't have 100s of cool plugins, such as Omnisphere and Serum and such, but I have a few, so my mileage will vary greatly.

Is this a nightmare for modest CPUs? Seems like it would/will be intense! I have an i7, 3.2ghz, 16gb ram, running Win 8.1 (did I forget something?), but wonder if I'll be able to use this in a fashion similar to the stream demo?

So, will these layers of plugins I create in Unify (Zebra2 + Nexus2 + some samples (do I need to run a sample player?) + effects) will all be saved within Unify, so next time I can load this Unify patch (of all the above loads) and it will sound the same every time, assuming I don't make any changes?

And can I run a synth like Zebra and have it be processed though a MIDI sequencer from a different plugin such as Silk guitar? I think this is where I'm just imagining...

Oh, I just heard Ilok plugins have issues, for now, so maybe not Nexus2 as listed above.

I'm extremely interested, but not really sure what is being discussed, and how much I'm just imagining (which happens a lot!). I hope by the end of tomorrow I'll know much more. :)

SciFiArtMan,
Yes it comes with synths some, audio efx, and midi fx as well. I can't remember the exact number, but skippy breaks it all down in these live stream video's. So no you don't have to have all of the shiny synth's, in fact the library ships with over 300 sounds or so.
John “Skippy” Lehmkuhl has been around for along time, and has made patches professionally in many, many synths over the years he now runs Plugin Guru, he and Shane partnered together and created Unify, this is going to be a keyboardists dream.
Best thing to do is to get out some popcorn, n check out his video's, these are really the good guys of the industry here.

What’s different about this, it looks like it does the same thing as Freestyle, Gig Performer or Metaplugin? Granted though, I didn’t sit through 5 hours of video to properly find out. :hihi:

Thanks, trusampler! I was writing that while I was listening/watching the Saturday stream, and as you say, many of my questions were answered by the end of the video, but I'll have to see more to have a true grasp of this beast's scope! At this point it's a buy for me! Thanks for directing me over here from the Nexus grand parade of lifeless packing!
