Write it in JS and any other DAW that can run the VST2 (32 and 64 bit available) ReaJS in ReaPlugs will be able to use it: https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/
If you know how to program in Lua, JS isn't much different, mostly syntax.
If JS isn't your thing you could also use something like Blue Cat's Plug n Script, which uses AngelScript, with the bonus that you can export to VST, VST3, AU, and AAX.
Then there's protoplug (first thing that came up in a Google search for "Lua VST"): https://www.osar.fr/protoplug/
Anyway, as far as I know, there aren't any limitations in the KVR DC with regards to submitting a Reaper script. Just that it's unlikely you'll amass enough votes if you are limiting who can try it out.

I don't think it matters whether you are the first or not.
Were there submittals made with SynthEdit, Max4Life, Reaktor, etc? I don't know. The rules should state whether it's allowed.
Anyway, good thing you found the scripting thing. Now use it for yourself intensively, only then think of impressing us.

We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

FerricTDS was Synthmaker. xoxos fauna stuff was SE, though.GaryG wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2020 9:46 am There were certainly Synthedit entres before, may have even won (FerricTDS?)
For the OP: 'Native' plugins go in the plugin categories, anything that is a patch for some other thing goes in Soundware, afaik, so that's probably where JS scripts would possibly go.

It's only available for Windows, though. (Also I think it's not anymore 100% compatible with JesuSonic plugins that run in Reaper, the last release of the Cockos stand alone plugins package was in 2016.)harryupbabble wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2020 3:31 am I didn't know that there is a vst plugin that can load js scripts.

Bert, I'm not a computer programmer myself but one of my brother is but he is super busy to enter challenges but I may ask him to modify existing scripts for me for private use when and if he has time.BertKoor wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2020 9:34 am I don't think it matters whether you are the first or not.

me impress youse? music-making-wise? unlikely. my stuff is terrible and may never improve. still, got to keep trying. it's fun anyways. but speed scrabble is more fun. and there never seems to be enough time.
