Hi, this might sound crazy but I'm looking for the Project5 2.5 update. I have my original install dvd and the 2.5.1 update but my install only takes me to 2.0.1 and the 2.5.1 won't work without it. I've searched on every hard drive I have with zero luck. And of course no luck trying to go through Cakewalk anymore. I'm trying to open some old projects but without the 2.5 update I'm outta luck.

I wasn't sure where to post so thought I'd start here.

Thank you for any response.

At the bottom of the page is the link.
You need to login.
You can still manage to register.
I did after many years.
I don’t remember how but I did.

I can't login without resetting password, it's been over a decade. The system also didn't recognize my email which makes no sense unless it's just lost or I used another one but I tried the only 3 it could've been with no luck. And I can't contact Cakewalk to reset it. I wish I could.

Thanks anyway.

Just open a new account and then you can sort things out.

Well I was able to use the 25 updater but now it wants me to register for another registration code in addition to my serial number. I did manage to locate my user name but I'm unable to do anything on the old Cakewalk site, it's dormant now. I can't migrate or create a new account, keeps returning a 404. I looked over the Bandland Cakewalk forums but nothing there.

Oh well, I tried but still, that's a little unfair.

404?...
That’s unfortunate.
If I come up with a solution I will post it here.

Thanks, much appreciated. Considering this would be considered abandoned-wear now (which is too bad, I wish they would've kept it going) you would think Cakewalk would have just released a universal code for these legacy apps.

Thanks again,
Jason

Hi,

you will need/have to install in the following order:
a) The orginal 2.0 installer (just need the serial to install)
b) The 2.5 update
c) The 2.5.1 update

After you installed the 2.5.1 update, run the app as admin and enter your reg code. It should work fine even on Win 10 (at least here it does).

If you lost your reg code it might be difficult, if you lost your account data. However, reg codes work forever, they are not machine dependent, so search carefully for your reg code (you should have gotten an email back then when you registered). If you cant find it, well, I guess you know what to do.

Just scanned my last hard rive for the reg code. Nothing. Nadda. I'll try Bandlab but doubtful. Hey, at least I can run 2.0.1.

It is a little cool seeing Kontak 6 running in P5, it just screams.

Thanks all,
-Jason

Your best bet. From the link below:

Account creation at Cakewalk.com is disabled, as Cakewalk (the company) is closed. A Single Sign-On system was in place from 2014-2017, which is still accessible to users who had created an account or migrated within that time frame. Our support staff is available to help retrieve legacy registration information if needed!"

I'm sure you can solve your problem with their support staff as stated above in that link.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone, BandLab was really great and was able to retrieve all my reg codes, even for Kinetic 2 which I don't even remember.
