I was wondering, say I use plugins and vsts in fruity that require PDC , for example dsp based plugins like uad comnpressors or the powercore virus, but then i rewire fruity into cubase, would cubase compensate for the delay in fruity?

That's a good question ... I'll have to try that later. I use FL rewired into SX all the time ... it's the way I work. But I'm usually only using drums in FL and applying group effects to the rewire channels on the SX mixer (which does compensate). As far as synths go ... I'm not sure.
I'll try it later today and let you know. Is there any reason that you WOULDN'T want to use SX to host your synths or effects that use DSP cards?

Cool thanks:) I recently moved over to sx2 after using fruity for 2 years and although I like cubase and get good results, my workflow has suffered. I find it takes longer to get things done in cubase. I prefer fruitys piano roll and i'm having a hard time coming to grips with sx's piano roll. Also fruity is just way to good for programming drums and I miss that so much. The drum roll in cubase isn't my cup of tea. And with fruity 5 coming out the additions look rather exciting.

I find rewiring better cause you can basically make a full track in fruity , then open up cubase , activate as many fl outputs as u need, load up fruity, load up the track and assign whichever effects you want to add to which ever fl output in cubase.
Now say you have a vsti like the powercore virus on a track in fruity and u route it to fl 1 output in cubase and then add a compressor that needs pdc like a uad 1176ln, would the delay of the virus caused by fruitys lack of pdc be compensated once u add the 1176ln in cubases fl 1 output? thats what im trying to find out.

Hey Banj ...
I used to use it as a VSTi, but it was notoriously unreliable with the little orange locator triangle in the FL playlist getting out of sync with the song, and of course the annoying "Count-in" for the VSTi. With the ReWired version, it all stays in perfect (visual) sync, and I can also keep my FLS seperate in case I want to reuse a similar drum set-up in another song. It's a few more clicks when saving and loading, but I find it's a lot more stable and flexible for the kinds of things that I do.
