CM79 is the issue with the standalone Limelite in it, but it also includes some Garritan string samples - can someone tell me what format(s) they're in and are they worth getting?

Thanks

While no one was watching at work, I put them on my HD and tried a few. They are wavs and sound good to me. Can't give you the tech details at this time. Basses, violins, cellos, violas--long, short and pizz, some tremelo. Solo instruments.

is limelight worth it? what is it? and are those string samples loops or oneshot dealies so you can build an instrument?

Hi--The wavs are single notes held as long as ten seconds (well, I've only tried maybe ten samples, I literally have looked at this thing no more than 3 minutes).

I tried Limelight for no more than a couple of minutes and REALLY had fun. I tried a a few pre-fab loops and twirled some knobs and got completly cool stuff. Realize, I don't want to sound like I've spent any time with this--but from what I've seen, I'd say spend the bucks for the mag if you can.

PS--almost forgot: Limelight is a drum synth. It's stand alone only (I don't have Reaktor but that's where it's from}. I love my microTonic and the "stoke factor" is the same for Limelight for me.

The Garritan samples are okay. I've posted sfz mappings on my CM sfz page, to make them easier to play with. They're single velocity, though, so don't expect anything spectacular.

Nice! do your sfz files have loop points in them?

The samples that should have loops were already looped, so I left well enough alone. (The pizz and short samples, obviously, don't loop. The long and tremelo ones appear to. I didn't do exhaustive testing, though.)
