Nice one! Hopefully it will be remembered in years to come along with the absolute classic;
Quizzicality (Simple little piece for string trio - violin, viola and cello).

Now I get it...there is some truth in what he says...el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:10 pmChameleonMusic wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:07 pmI know who Christian Henson is obviously, but 'foreboding'...you've lost me there?el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:58 pmChameleonMusic wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:32 pmThe result here is good enough for professional broadcast - that's a definite as I've just licensed it to a media company for a very nice fee + royalties.
@el-bo: For a Political show - you were right!!!
Good to see. Puts paid to some of Henson's foreboding. And with one of his libraries, no less.very nice fee + royalties
Really happy for you, man!!
I teach and lecture 2.5 days a week in music as my main job - main, stable salary.
I compose music as my second, chaotic, totally unpredictable job.
10 years ago I could guarantee my second job bringing in a certain and substantial amount of money minimum each year. that has dropped by half now because of lack of arts funding over here in the UK + the use of loop and preset sample libraries by idiots!
Went for an African Plains nature style documentary a few months ago - didn't get it. They liked my demo reel, but someone else was much, much cheaper. I listened to the successful bloke's music a few weeks later - 100% preset loops off a CD - not one bit of original music at all....he does it all the fuckin' time and pisses off so many people...but of course he's VERY cheap as it's so quick to do with just bought loops.

I had a short piece on Bulgarian TV about 10 years ago - made the dumbass mistake of agreeing a royalties only deal...PRS paid up 6 months later...£15!

I remember that programme. Not so much the theme, except for the last bit (I'm guessing they used that little motif when returning from the adverts, and so was more familiar...perhaps

The show started the year I was born, so it's not something I'd ever consciously have watched. Nor is it something my parents would've had much interest in. I do definitely remember the closing motif, thoughseismic1 wrote: Thu Jan 09, 2020 11:59 pmI can't believe you don't remember that theme - Mountain - Nantucket Sleighrideel-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:21 pmf**k!!donkey tugger wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:16 pmNice one! There was one particular episode (where a crazy alien takes over a spaceship and eats people) which was bloody frightening and still makes me shudder to think of it. Can't believe they used to have it on on a Sunday afternoon.

I remember it being on, on Saturday. Late morning, early afternoon. Different era, perhapsdonkey tugger wrote: Fri Jan 10, 2020 7:25 amThere was one particular episode (where a crazy alien takes over a spaceship and eats people) which was bloody frightening and still makes me shudder to think of it. Thanks Tim...it does sound a bit 'Fawlty' you're right!seismic1 wrote: Fri Jan 10, 2020 12:10 am Actually, having listened to the music, I think highbrow quiz-show is quite possibly the right option, but if there was ever a 2020 remake of Flay Otters, or Farty Towels, that would be my choice.
Quite a discerning bunch, the Bulgarians.
Good work![]()
As I think I said - 2nd time I've licensed music to Bulgarian TV...hell, I'll soon be as famous there as Norman Wisdom is in Albania!
I've decided to have a go at reworking that violin line..if it improves, I'll repost.

Sounds quite realistic for a plugin. Well composed and enjoyable. Good work.
