I am an Ableton Live veteran, using the latest build, who has recently picked up a Bitwig Studio 3 license - almost entirely because of 'the grid'.
I have no intention of 'abandoning' Ableton Live. It is still my intention for Live to be the core of my music making & sonic activities.
So, I would be keen to here some tips & tricks regarding sound design (and only sound design) in Bitwig Studio 3 and also tips & tricks regarding workflow as far as taking sound designs from Bitwig Studio 3 back into Live 10 and generally using them together in an optimal way.
using windows 10, btw.

For owners of Push 2 there is indeed no reason to use anything else than Live. Bitwig will never have such deep integration with Push 2 as with Live.
For me, Bitwig is fun to play with, but that's all. It would be great to have a VST version of Bitwig, so I could load it in Live or Cubase

Well, I actually own Push2 and haven't opened Live in over a year. I guess it depends on what you want from Push2 - if device visualisations and/or Simpler audio slicing are crucial for you, then sure. But otherwise 90% of the workflow - playing, sequencing, automating, tweaking devices, etc. - is already there in Bitwig's script.Reefius wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2020 8:56 pmFor owners of Push 2 there is indeed no reason to use anything else than Live. Also, I was sort of joking. I'm not anymore trying to convince people to Bitwig or any other DAW. Owning 5 I know each one has specific strengths and the choice is very individual.

Excellent, thanks very much.
re: leaving live ... I've been using it for over 16 years. I know it backwards, have tonnes of projects in Live format and even if Bitwig would replicate and improve on the Live workflow that I am accustomed to, I am also heavily invested in MAXmsp / M4L. At any rate, any subjectively compelling reasons to make Bitwig my primary DAW will become self-evident, if they exist, while I'm using it as a purely sound-design utility.
