Hello,

I've been connecting my DAW to my VSL machine to send MIDI data from my DAW to another the other computer than runs the Vienna Symphonic Library using the Ethernet port and software called MIDI over LAN. Both machines are running Windows 7. I am upgrading to Windows 10 and am wondering if anybody uses this software with Windows 10. I am concerned about compatibility with Windows 10.

If this software doesn't work with Windows 10, does anyone know of any software that will allow me to send MIDI data from one Windows 10 machine to another using the Ethernet port? Using Ethernet is better than using hardware MIDI interfaces because Ethernet is a very fast protocol and only requires one Ethernet cable rather than 4 or more MIDI cables.

Thanks!
Jerry

Which midi of lan software are you using? Windows 10 is support with rtpMIDI for instance.

It's called MIDI over LAN, by MusicLab. It will probably work with Windows 10 but the company doesn't make or support it anymore. I have other options, but MIDI over LAN has worked incredibly well over the years. Thanks for replying, I'll try rtpMIDI if it doesn't work...

iConnectivity Mio and BomeBox work in my Win 10 network... really potent stuff ... their software may be all you need if you already have the hardware?
